Patagonia Merino 3 Bottom - Men's

Patagonia Merino 3 Bottom - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2010

As much as I hate to write reviews, if you're reading this, like me, you rely a great number of them to make a buying decision. Well, I LOVE THESE bottoms! they had me at merino wool-my first experience with this brand was phenomenal, and I was back this time to order another pair not only for me, but for my wife as well. We actually purchased the tops and bottoms. I am a year round bike commuter, and once the outside temps dropped, i reached for these! all the benefits are true...the perfect base layer, they are warm and breathable. The natural antibacterial effect is REAL. I'm embarassed to say that I've had them almost 2 months and have yet to wash them. sounds "grody" if you will, but they do not stink ONE BIT! and because they are a base layer, they are not being fouled up from outside conditions. Paired with a nice windproof outer shell and you have a perfect combination down to 0 degrees (depending on your activity level). The best thing about these, and buying them here, is if they don't work out, you can send them back. These guys stand behind their satisfaction gaurantee 100% bottome line: they are worth the investment!

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 October 25, 2009

Ditto what most say. however, I am a bike commuter and have been wearing ski goggles during the winter for three years now, and these are a godsend. They work as expected, I only wish they had a clear lens for those late night commuters, however, since i commuter on city streets, the lights are good enough not to compromise visibility. Excellent in rain and foggy mornings! Make the investment!

Great for those rainy day commutes

GoLite Gauntlet Jacket - Men's

GoLite Gauntlet Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 25, 2009

Excellent rainproof jacket, well made and worth the investment. It has all the bells and whistles that a coat in this price range should have, and looks quite stylish (i've gotten several comments on it). I am a daily bike commuter and DON"T want to dress like so many of the pretentious bike geeks I see around town. This thing kept me bone dry. My only complaint, and this is more my fault than anything, is that it's not as breathable as I'd like, however, there are pit zips so I guess if I used them more and slowed down I'd be alright.
