Dynastar 6th Sense Huge Ski

February 26, 2010

These skis are awesome in just about every condition. Since they are fairly traditionally cut, they really hold an edge well on the hard pack, and I find that I can be really aggresive on them no matter what the snow conditions, and they really rip through the crud well too. Obivously since they are pretty wide you have to roll over a little more to change edges, but they are a great all around ski if you want something fat.

Awesome Watch!

Suunto Observer Altimeter Watch

Suunto Observer Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 5 September 20, 2009

I absolutely love my Suunto. You can buy the metal band so it looks good in nice clothes, and then easily throw the standard band for using in the backcountry, etc. I must say I don't use the compass much, but I do like the barometer and altimeter. Altimeter does need a lot of re-calibrating if you desire exact readings, but just set it at the start of the day and it will calculate your ascents and descents very accurately plus the # of laps. Barometer is nice since it has arrows of the main time screen that let you know what direction the pressure is going and how extreme. Temp reading is inaccurate any time it is on your wrist for obvious readings, but will read properly after a minute or two or standing alone. I highly reccomend this watch for anyone who wants a great performing watch for the backcountry and the office!

Great Shades, slip a little bit tho

Oakley Fives Squared Sunglasses - Polarized

Oakley Fives Squared Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 4 September 20, 2009

Very comfortable shades with very good coverage of your eyes, not letting much light through below or above. Only downside is that if you plan on wearing these while playing sports or being very active and sweating/moving a lot, they don't grip on to your head very well since there is no grip on the arms.

Comfy, but has its downsides

Big Agnes Lost Ranger Sleeping Bag: 15-Degree Down

Big Agnes Lost Ranger Sleeping Bag: 15-Degree Down

Rating for this product: 3 September 20, 2009

This bag is very comfortable and has plenty of room for you to lie comfortably. The pocket for the sleeping pad is nice for when you can't find flat land, but has its downsides. No padding on the bottom of the bag is really annoying if you are using this bag outside the strictly sleeping while camping scenario. Also, since the pad is basically part of the bag, it makes it kinda uncomfortable to sleep in any position but on your back. If you can handle this, then its a great bag.
