Black Diamond Quadrant Alpine Touring Boot - Men's
October 31, 2011
Hi, I'm looking at these boots, but according to BD's chart (not BC.com's chart) a 10.5 US falls right between 27.5 & a 28. My foot tends to run wide and the toe box has been an issue in the past (Garmont Adrenaline)
Any thoughts on the sizing?
Thanks!

Anyone know if this tip system will fit the Armada JJs? (185)? Any other suggestions on skins for the JJs would be great too...
Thanks!

Armada JJ Ski
October 4, 2011
I'm 5'8 & 162.. The 185s ROCK! DO NOT go any shorter! the 185s kill it not only in the deep, crud and yes mach'n groomers...but are easily piloted through the trees as well. You will absolutely want a longer ski with this design. I had the same concerns when I bought my pair, but am so glad I went with my gut. When you look at the actual contact length of the JJs, you will quickly realize that you can (and should) ski this in the large size. Don't fear what sounds like a huge ski...when they're on the snow it's a whole different story.
IMO the JJs did to skiing what Apple did to technology. GAME CHANGER!
Enjoy!

Platypus Origin 9.0 Hydration Pack
September 7, 2011
Looking to upgrade from my camelback... generally a good overall pack, but when the res is filled 70% or greater it rounds out and does not sit properly on my back. Add some food and light layers and the pack torches my lower back on any ride over 3 hrs.
I like the way this Platypus looks in terms of overall ergo support and weight distribution. I can't seem to find one locally so I can check it out in person, but wanted to see if any other folks out there can chime in on this pack.
Does it hold a full bladder comfortably? What about overall stability? Some packs tend to "jump up" when riding fast, technical downhill...anyone put this Platypus to the test to see if it sits snug and quiet? How about extra storage (layers, food, tools et)? The Origin 22 looks too big for biking (IMO), but it's hard to tell if the 9.0 can do it all... in comfort?
Thanks!

Giro Tuneups w/BT Link
November 20, 2009
Anyone use this yet (preferably with a 3G iPhone)? Curious to hear about the audio quality for the calls and if the mic works well enough for someone on the other end to hear...
Also, can someone confirm that the hardwired music source is automatically muted/paused when a call comes in?
Lastly, will this work on the Giro MX10 Audio helmet?
Thanks!

Origo Traverse Peak Series Altimeter Watch
February 24, 2009
I have a Suunto and while the features are nice, it's a PAIN to use and set up. Not sure if the newer ones are better or easier to work with, but can anyone chime in on the Origo as far as ease of use and clarity of screen? I will not buy a Suunto again...

Swix World Cup Ski Vise
November 10, 2008
Hi, Not sure how this set actually clamps? I have 05 Volkl Gotamas (183) that measure 130-105-122. The center makes the cut for the 110 max on this vice, but what about the ends? Any info/suggestions would be great. Thanks!
