Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 15, 2011

This is my second pair of Salomons, and I'm pretty convinced this will be the brand I come back to over and over. I used my first pair for week-long backpacking trips in the Southern Sierras, day hikes through snow-covered trails in Montana this summer, and on trail runs (jogging is probably a better word) in the Los Padres in Southern California pretty much year round. I also use these for coaching field sports in rainy conditions. After a year and a half or two years, the laces started to fail and I bought a replacement kit, which worked great. Some of the stitching also started to fail not too long after, so I had to give in a replace them. The tread had also stared to get pretty slick around 2 years in. I have pretty wide feet, so I've always had trouble with blisters or jammed toes in women's shoes with a narrow toebox. These have been great for me and the lacing system seems to really work well for me. Unless something really changes, I imagine I'll be pretty devoted to this shoe for years to come.

Patagonia Morning Glory Dress - Women's

May 21, 2010

Molly--I also just found this review from the Patagonia site...it might help even more than mine did.
"I wanted to include a review from someone of a "curvier" figure as many of the reviews I had read before were from women in the 140 pound range and I waver around 180 and am 5'8". Previous reviews raved about this dress but I was skeptical at first as this dress has a spandex-like fabric and I worried it would highlight my flawed, curvier areas. Boy was I wrong! The L size was a bit tight in the hips area so I tried on the XL and it fit like a glove!!! It's very flattering for someone with a more curvier, full figure - I am a huge Patagonia fan and have multiple clothing items generally in the L size. No need to wear a bra with this dress either. It hit just below my knees and didn't scoop to low in the neckline either. It's totally comfortable, wrinkle-free, and versatile for any occasion! I plan on wearing this to many fancier occasions and pack it along in my future travel abroad plans. Would highly recommend this dress for curvier women like myself who've got the wider thighs and hips."

Patagonia Morning Glory Dress - Women's

May 21, 2010

Molly--Not sure if this helps, but I'm about 5'7", 150-155 lbs, and definitely curvy (34 D on a good day). The material on this dress is substantial, and I was really please at how it hung on my body. I, too, worry about how these types of clothes drape on a body type that is not "boyish" as most of the Patagonia models appear that way to me. I tried on this dress in the store and was very pleased with how flattering the fit and drape were. And in comparison to other dresses with v-neck cuts, this one was the most modest in terms of cleavage. So it was form-fitting without showing every little bump or curve and not as low cut as other Patagonia dresses (Margot in particular). I'm holding out for the right color and price, but I do plan on purchasing this dress in the future. Hope this helps.

Smith Method Sunglasses - Polarized

October 4, 2009

I bought a pair of the Smith Super Methods a couple of years ago and they were great, just a little too Super...and I ended up on wearing them as much because of the fit. I'm assuming that the regular Methods will be a better match for my face dimensions. Is this a safe assumption? Any one out there able to comment on the comparison between the Method and Super Method? Thanks.
