Perfect Car Coat

The North Face Transit Down Jacket - Women's

The North Face Transit Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2010

The length on this coat is perfect, just below the butt. The sleeve length is also great for me, as I have longish arms. I have the longer version of this coat for extreme cold, but the Transit is the one I grab the most when I get into the car during the winter.

The North Face Metropolis Down Parka - Women's

December 16, 2009

If you want it snug, and don't have long arms, go with the medium. I have longish arms, and like space for layers, so I went with the large. It's still quite flattering.

Finally, the right down coat!

The North Face Metropolis Down Parka - Women's

The North Face Metropolis Down Parka - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2009

Checked out both this and the NF Arctic down jackets and Metropolis won hands down. First, as other reviewers have noted, if you have an athletic build (broader shoulders, narrower hips), the Artic makes you look like Jabba the Hut. The Metropolis, on the other hand, has a nice slim cut, and the sleeves are long enough for my long arms. The shoulders fit comfortably, and the body was roomy enough for several layers. It is much less bulky than other down jackets I've owned but just as warm. Loved the asphalt gray -- tres chic. I'm sure the Artic is warmer, but hey, I live in Jersey, not Boston or Chicago anymore and so fashion can be a priority. . .
