Stoic Luft Down Sweater - Men's
December 20, 2010
If you have a slimmer build, go for the stoic one. If you're on the stockier side, go for patagonia. For your dollar, stoic offers much for insulation. It's very warm compared to the patagonia one. The down quality is insignificantly different, so it just comes down to your build and the warmth you want.

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's
September 4, 2010
I have the Stoic luft and have felt the Patagonia sweater. The Stoic luft is about an inch thick in the front and back panels so is a lot warmer than this for a lower price and the same weight. The luft has a very nice athletic fit as opposed to the sweater's looser. I'm really happy I went with the luft. The luft uses 15 denier fabric and I think this uses 30, so it'll be a little more durable. I'd go with the Stoic piece since neither are really shell pieces so the fabric strength isn't a huge issue.

Better a little too wide than a little to narrow. I'd go for wide.

Down gives you a lot more loft per weight. More loft means more warmth.

Stoic Luft Down Sweater - Men's
March 21, 2010
You should definitely get a medium. I'm 5'10'' and 145, and I originally got a small, but had to exchange for a medium. Small was extremely constricting... everywhere. Medium is still pretty close fitting, but I have full mobility and am a lot more comfortable in it.
