Are you asking weight as in lightweight and heavyweight? The jacket is more on the heavyweight side because it is insulated. If you just want a shell that will keep you dry, look at the Special Blend Avalon Jacket - Women's. This has a removable liner, so if you take it out, it will just be the shell.

Not warm at all is a bit too harsh. Correct that the jacket is a shell, and a shell's job is to keep you dry. I wouldn't wear this in -10 weather, to insure you are dry and warm, wear good base layer. This makes a world of difference. Base layer is the best.

I would think a small, but here are our sizing to make sure you get the right fit. Small: 34"–36" (86–91 cm) Medium: 36"–38" (91–96cm) I am 6' even and I run Large because of the length of the sleeves. I hope this helps.

For sure, this is our most heavily insulated jacket. It is really warm, and if you do happen to get a little chilly, then add a technical base layer fight against the elements.

The sizing for Special Blend is Small: 32"–33.5" (81–85 cm) Medium: 34"–35.5" (87–91cm). Layering is good, but layering with the correct product is even better. Heavy weight first layer is still pretty thin, because of this the best thing to do is to measure you self to see what Size you are, then (just to be safe) add and inch. You should never be layering as much as and inch though. Good heavy weight base layer one piece and a Technical flannel would be more than enough. I love base layer!

I'm 6' even, i wear a Large. The jacket fits me really well. The length is great, it comes down below my waist. The Large is 33" long from the top of the shoulder to the bottom. The X: is a couple inches longer. If anything, Special Blend jackets fit bigger than others not smaller. Great Jacket.

10K is legit. As long as you are not swimming in them, they will keep you dry. As soon as you think they are starting to let the elements in, spay some scotch guard on there to help out a little.
