so comfortable

Petzl Myo 5 Headlamp

Petzl Myo 5 Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 October 26, 2004

I needed a head lamp for evening trail runs. I have a Zipka (3 LED model) which is an extremely handy, lightweight item to have. But the Zipka just doesn't put out enough light for many situations. I bought the Myo 5 and was surprised how comfortable it is worn directly on your head (I've only had lights mounted on helmets). I can run in it and it's totally stable, light and comfortable. I can easily switch from the halogen spot to the LED, battery-saving mode. Love it.

perfect...at least for one

Snow Peak Mini Solo Combo Titanium Cookset

Snow Peak Mini Solo Combo Titanium Cookset

Rating for this product: 5 October 26, 2004

This is a perfect ultralight cookset for one person. It could come up a bit short if you need enough water for two meals, and I have used it primarily as a tool for boiling water. However, if I do try "actual cooking" in the pot, I believe it will work better than in other set because of the depth-other pots are much shallower and therefore prone to liquid boiling over, etc. Since the pot fits down into the mug, the interior of the pot is free to pack in a micro stove or whatever (as opposed to other "nested" sets, which, though they fit together, they represent an overall bulk item in your pack). Also, in response to the reviewer who said the lid doesn't fit the mug, actually if you flip it over it does fit over the mug (just not tightly inside like it does in the pot). I'm impressed with the quality and highly recommend this set.

The most cush pad ever!

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core REM Sleeping Pad - Mummy

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core REM Sleeping Pad - Mummy

Rating for this product: 5 October 20, 2004

Went out for my first camp trip with the Big Agnes pad. The comfort of this pad makes it the top choice for me as a woman (think hips) and because I like to sleep on my side. I never felt the ground once. In fact, I felt as comfortable as I do in my bed at home. The Primaloft is just icing on the cake, as I believe I was able to get by with a lighter weight bag, but had this insulted barrier between me and the ground when it dipped below freezing. Nice.

Best support for trail running

Sugoi X Venti Bra - Women's

Sugoi X Venti Bra - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 20, 2004

This is now the third of these Sugoi bras I have puchased. I run on trails 3-4 times a week. Normally I wear a 34C bra (so I wear a medium in all Sugoi tops), and I have not been very impressed with most jogging bra tops, even ones that claim to be made for high impact (like Patagonia's jog bra). The X Venti bra is a compression bra, but i don't look totally flattened in it, yet it is extremely supportive, breathes well. Only gripe: I think because I have a long torso, the straps dig in a bit. It's still a comfortable fit, though.

great fabric and fit

The North Face El Cap Shirt - Women's

The North Face El Cap Shirt - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 20, 2004

I love this shirt. I mostly wear on trail runs, where I find that it does wick/breathe well. I have long arms and for once the sleeves aren't too short! Also, I like that it gives me a nice layer to take the chill off, but isn't as heavy as a lot of other similar tops. The fit is great but you may want to size up from your usual.
