my fav tele binding of the decade

Black Diamond O2 Telemark Binding

Black Diamond O2 Telemark Binding

I started tele-skiing on old 3-pin mountaineering bindings and Ranney Super-Loops. Moved up to the G3 Targa when they came out. I have been on these for 3 years now and could not be happier. These were a great step forward from my previous bindings and I immediately saw an improvement in my control at speed and when turning in the steeper terrain. Depending on what your boot/ski combination is (especially if you are on fat skis w/big boots), you might want to spring for the rid-stiff cartridges.

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

anyone know if the new tracker beacon will have a longer range than this one? I liked using the original DTS, but my older Ortovox M2 had at least twice the range in almost every orientation.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 5 days ago

I have been running in these since the original version came out around 10 years ago. By far the best mountain/trail running shoes I have used. Stable, good traction, and comfortable. The lacing system is bombproof and allows for fast uphill/downhill adjustments. I have med/wide forefoot and these fit well. If you have narrow feet, you may need to look at adding Superfeet.

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin

I guess I am old school, but I alway size for the waist of the ski. I hate when I fold them up and I get glue sticking everywhere. That said, I would probably aim for 100 wide to minimize that issue. I agree with Matthew that the tip does not get you much traction anyway.

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin

I have older style G3 skins now and love them, but they are getting near to needing replacement. How do the tip clip things compare reliability wise? Have folks found these to stay on well?

Black Diamond Covert Winter Pack - 1343-1953cu in

I have seen these "retrofit" ideas posted various places. I would say it is a bad idea generally. I wear the original style Avalung along with my normal ski pack. While it is a a little more work getting it all on and off, I am not going to second guess the BD guys and "hope" that zip ties and duct tape keep it on me if I get caught in an avalanche. I see it like folks who keep their beacons in their jacket pocket because they don't like the harness. If you want it integrated, save up and buy it built that way.

Patagonia Storm Pant - Men's

How's the fit on these? I do a lot of BC touring and want to make sure these will work for the up AND the down.
