DAKINE Explorer 26L Backpack - 1600cu in

Rating for this product: 5 September 18, 2011

I got this pack for school and love it. its very spacious, much bigger then i thougth it would be. i havent had any problem fitting books in. one of the top zipper pockets (not the sunglass one) is the perfect size for a graphing calculator. not to mention the graphics are sick! i picked one up for the beginning of the school year, and ive already seen multiple kids with the same pack in different colorways. I got it in green and couldnt be more stoked.

solid bag

K2 Deluxe Double Ski Bag

K2 Deluxe Double Ski Bag

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2011

This bag gets the job done. I can easily fit two pairs of twintips in it, and you can tighten it down with the straps so that they dont move around at all. There is also padding between the two spots for skis, as well as most of the way around too. And the entire inside of the bag is lined with a tarp like material, just in case all that snow has not quite yet melted by the time you stow your skis away in this thing. The outside is made of rugged durable material and so far i have had no problems with this bag.

DAKINE Scout Glove - Men's

DAKINE Scout Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 26, 2011

for $45 this glove cant be beat. it is waterproof on the back and has a durable waterproof palm. The shell is really enough for most days and the liner is great for wearing around by itself, i even use it as a running glove. the liner is articulate enough that i can even text on the lift, so i dont have to expose my hands to the cold. it definately runs small though. i followed the sizing chart, bought medium, and had to return it for a large. I was about to swap it for a bigger glove when i realized that it wouldnt really be possible for me to size up, its just too tight across the back of the hand. I do not recomend this for skiers though. With the liner it it feels snug on the hand in a relaxed position but when you bend your fingers (to grasp a pole) it feels like its pulled way to tight across the back of the hand, especially the knuckles. im afraid after alot of use some seams on the back of the fingers will pull out. its slightly uncomfortable, but i get used to it. im sure its fine for any snowboarders who leave their hands in a relaxed position as they ride. other than the tighteness on the back of the hnad, its one of the best gloves ive had

DAKINE Scout Glove - Men's

January 11, 2011

i just went ahead and bought them and to answer my own question, it is not secured inside the glove. its made so you can remove your hand from the outer part to do something like take a pic or answer your phone and you leave the liner on the whole time. its a pretty useful feature

Red Trace II Helmet

Red Trace II Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2011

I have never worn a helmet that felt so good on my head. It may be all Red helmets, but this thing just fits the best. Its thick padding is very comfortable, and the two ear pads are actually part of the same piece that has material connecting it along the back underside of the helmet. I have it in matte gray, and it did pick up some black scratches fairly easily. I sometimes like to wear a hat and goggles underneath the helmet, so I removed the pads but had to cover each thing of velcro inside the helmet with tape so it wouldn't fray my goggles and hat. the clip just slides out but hasn't come out by accident for me yet. You can feed ear buds through a hole in the back and have them inside the earpad, which is really hadny. its great for stickers too.

solid all around ski

K2 Silencer Alpine Ski

K2 Silencer Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 3, 2011

I love this ski because it performs well all over the mountain and you can still take it into the park just as easily as any other park ski. My biggest concern is how easily the top sheet scratches. Not only is the material so soft it may be possible to scratch it with your fingernail, but any scratches turn up white against the solid red background. After just 4 hours of skiing there were several noticeable scratches, and the tail even had two chips out where the material underneath was exposed. In case you couldn't tell, the top sheet is all one color red, with a solid matte background with numerous k2 emblems on the ski in a gloss finish. You can only see them if the light hits it right, otherwise they are invisible and it's just a red ski. It's got decent pop in the park and holds an edge well. Ive got dynastar px12's on it and they're pretty heavy, but that may come mostly from the bindings. overall the versatility is what really makes this a great ski

great bandana

Discrete Blammo Bandana

Discrete Blammo Bandana

Rating for this product: 5 January 3, 2011

This thing rocks. unstretched, it has a circumference of about 15 inches and is about 8.5 inches long, long enough that when pulled all the way up to the bridge of my nose where it should be it still just touches my shirt neck. its about a quarter inch thick, which is kinda thick but is surprisingly breathable. it is slightly uncomfortable because it crushes your nose in a little, but after all it is just using friction to hang on. having goggle on top helps keep it up too. and when u don't need it you can just push it down and it acts as a great neck warmer/ turtle neck extension. overall great bandana

Patagonia Tech Web Belt

Patagonia Tech Web Belt

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2010

i wear this belt to school every day and for my ski pants. its easy to use and tighten and it will never loosen on you. the belt is very strong and resists any sort of tearing. there are no marks on the actual belt part and the buckle piece just has a couple small dings in it from hitting stuff. its a little wide making it difficult for some smaller belt loops, but otherwise i wear it with any pants.

great jacket

Oakley Battalion Jacket - Men's

Oakley Battalion Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 29, 2010

The first thing i noticed about this jacket is that it runs large. i am 5'9 and 140 pounds and got medium, and it is a huge fit, but wearable. the cuffs extend well beyond my hands when my arms are hanging down. the next thing i noticed is how waterproof it is. you can hold it under running water and water just rolls off it. so far, the wproofing hasnt worn and rain still bead up. it has a huge array of pockets, so my resort pack is now obsolete. the hood is goofy large, so i guess its made to go over helmets. the hood uses a really useful tightening system with a hidden button on the back of the hood, and has a magnet holding it to your upper back to keep it from billowing up if you go airborne. the powder skirt has buttons on it to connect to oakley pants. the vest, though not down, is great too, and i wear it around more often than the jacket. The two put together are pretty warm and windproof, and on a mid 30s day i wear nothing but a t-shirt underneath. the goggle pocket zipper is right next to the main jacket zip up, and is concealed under the flap covering that. inside the goggle pocket is a rectangular fleece pocket the size of an ipod touch, and there is a slit on the inside of the jacket to allow the cable to reach you inside your jacket. overall best jacket ive ever had!

i think that should be good for the 168. it really depends on what you do/ability tho. the ski is gonna feel shorter on groomers because of less contact with the snow, but with powder youll feel all 168 cms of the ski. as an intermediate skier, 168 should be good

i would definately say 159. i am half a foot taller and feel comfortable on my 169 rockered ski. you'll feel all of this skis length in powder so sizing up might be tough there, but with the rocker on groomers it will be much shorter as far as contact with the snow. the more experienced you are the longer length you should be comfortable on. it depends on what you ski

this is a solid helmet that has just the right amount of vents in the right places. the ear covers come off easily to convert it into a summer helmet, making it a good year round helmet for any action sport. there is thick padding that make it very comfortable, and it comes with extra to customize the fit if thats not enough for your. also, the strap padding is really nice; having used helmets without that, it helps you avoid chafing that can occur after time

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2010

this is a solid rack that is very versatile. with the load bars, there are many different attachments to put on for different things like bikes and skis. the smooth curved walls make for just a little bit more of an aerodynamic design than most feet for racks, which are just upright and angled. with the fit kit, this is a good buy.

this is really a good investment. no car rack alone is made to be aerodynamic, and they really dont help gas mileage. also, when you have skis, it directs air over your bindings a little, but thats not its main purpose. when i drive with the rack off, its really loud because of the wind so i know its helping when its on. its a goody buy

Oakley Crowbar Goggle Replacement Lens

Oakley Crowbar Goggle Replacement Lens

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2010

THis lense is really good for those bluebird days anywhere around the country. It does any outstanding job of keeping sunlight out of your eyes and lowering the amount of light reflected off of the snow. while doing this, it still helps me maintain great depth perception and i can see all the shapes of the terrain, which is really helpful when the snow is all chopped up ahead. While its not recommended, I have night skied in these and it not as terrible as you think. the terrain melts together a little but if you have no other choice its definately manageable. plus, i think we can all agree that its the best looking lens out there

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

Rating for this product: 4 November 15, 2010

so far no problem with this pack. i have in it the Hawg NV pack. probably the most convenient thing about this is how easy it is to fill up with the little handle under the lid. the only downside to it that you have to screw the lid on pretty tight for it to close. it thought the lid would be so waterproof that all you really have to do is lightly twist, but you really need to tighten it down or else it will leak in your pack

These skis are k2s all-around twin tips, they were really designed with everybody in mind, and can take a beating. because of this, you should look to them as more of an all mountain ski. they'll do great on groomers probably moguls, but I wouldn't buy this to be your ski for hikes or powder runs, as the dimensions are not very good for that. 174 might be the best for you with your height, but at 145pounds 169 should do fine, especially because its the only size left

This is one of the bigger hydration packs you'll see. It can carry a lot of gear but it makes for a bulkier load on your back. You can even carry 6 liters of water with its back to back bladder compartments. The internal spine is a huge plus: it keeps the pack a good 1" of your back and creates a good airflow. It includes a drainage hole at the bottom of the back pack. It is big enough to fit an entire helmet completely inside the pack( or full face on the outside). Rain fly is stowaway

Thule Revolver Hitch Bike Carrier with Retractable Locking Cable - 4 Bike

Rating for this product: 4 July 8, 2010

Having a land rover with a rear gate that swings sideways rather than up, a rack that can completely swivel out of the way really comes in handy. one end of the locking system sticks into the spare tire though so you have to completely extend it out of it socket in order to put the rack up. The clamps are pretty solid and the tie down attachment to keep your tires from moving around that you can purchase helps too. Four bikes is a tight fit but it can be done. Ive done five (one roped on top), three of which were full scale mountain bikes.

Amazing feel

KEEN Targhee ll Mid Hiking Boot - Men's

KEEN Targhee ll Mid Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 8, 2010

I have tried other top notch brands of boots including Merrel, vasque, Columbia, and more but none molded to my foot quite like these keen boots. They are surprisingly waterproof while still being very breathable. The Keen Dry waterproofing works as well as gore-tex.Their best characteristic is how well the laces area of the boot flexes when you walk. It is very easy for it to bend but doesnt push down on your tows like other stiffer boots. I also have a wide foot and these boots are definitely for wider feet. The traction is great and the lacing design is very effective. After long hikes the tongue does seem to curl a little bit which loosens the boot's hold on your ankle and the sole is just starting to separate in places after years of use. still the greatest boot ive ever worn.

Oakley Crowbar Goggle

Oakley Crowbar Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 July 7, 2010

The oakley crowbar goggles are some of the best goggle out there. They offer a lot of peripheral view but are a little heavy because of their size. Pick up an iridium lens for amazing depth perception and sun protection. I have the fire lens and the trail's terrain doesnt blur together like with most other lenses but its definitely NOT a night skiing lens. The white O matter frame tends to dirty up a little bit if you handle it too much with your hands so be careful. The strap also frays if it comes in contact with any Velcro. The foam covering one of the vents on the top tore through too.

Great pack that holds lots of water and looks good too in almost any colors. the back pannel unzips to get to the reservoir pocket. My bite valve broke tho after alittle under a year but its not hard to buy a new one from hidrapack. Also, the design always pulls up the back hem of my jersey until thers nothing in between the pack and my back. The hip straps dont do a very good job of keepn the pak from bouncing around, but that could just be how you wear them. there is a hidden pocket on the backside of the front peice of the pack that is lined with tarp material. the helmet carry works great for xc helmets too.
