August 28, 2009

Anyone tried out these boots? Im a medium foot width, normal arch; wondering if these would make a good buy for not only climbing but mountaineering as well.

After wearing this for a month straight, its the ONLY base layer I will ever use. Works marvels on keeping the funk down and holds up to abuse.

Columbia Signal Mountain Jacket - Women's

Columbia Signal Mountain Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 16, 2009

Absolutely love it! Have worn it up and down mountains as a light shell with base layers underneath, in bogs and brush for weeks on end (ended up saving my sanity as being the ONLY thing the mosquitoes couldn't bite through), in the artic tundra, black spruce forests, around campus, on long trail runs, etc. Holds up great to all the abuse I have put it through in a year (its had more than the average wear and tear). The wrist adjustments also keeps the mosquites out of your sleeves. It also puts up with quite a bit of funk, just keep it zipped up around people and you would never know its been your only shell for months at a time. And it is also completely water proof, it may look wet, but water won't soak through during a heavy down pour (though I did Nikwax it).
I am usually not a Columbia fan for anything besides casual wear, but this jacket has topped anything I have worn out in the field.
I recommend the chocolate brown, looks great, hides dirt and has received a lot of compliments.
