Backcountry.com Siphon Street Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Backcountry.com Siphon Street Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 19, 2009

The best hoody I've owned yet! Has a nice tailored athletic fit that isn't baggy like other hoodies. I love having a breast pocket for my Blackberry and the zippered waist pockets are nice for my car keys when I'm out for a quick backpack-less hike in the winter. I'm 5'10" 170lbs average build and normally buy a medium but after reading others reviews I ordered a large and its a perfect fit.

Very Versatile

Mountain Hardwear Talus Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Talus Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 19, 2009

I wore these pants on a hot 90 degree day up trail 133 to the top of Trapper Peak in September and my legs stayed cool and did not over heat. There was no chaffing or harsh rubbing. I am also currently wearing these pants over a base layer for my winter hikes. The nylon-elastane outer fabric is like Teflon against the snow, my legs stay dry and warm. The position of the pockets offer quick access and the zippers glide so easily that they operate one handed. The pants have a tailored fit, not too tight and not too baggy, almost like you're not wearing anything at all...

Confidence I've never had before

Kayland Zephyr Hiking Boot - Men's

Kayland Zephyr Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 19, 2009

Now that I've had a chance to break these babies in I love them! I was worried that they would be too narrow but after a few miles of break-in they fit like a glove. Its amazing how stable these boots are. I just finished a 5mi trek on hard packed and soft snow covered trails which were very unstable but my feet were stable and my ankles felt safe and secure. Although these are Kayland's "light" hiker my feet were incredibly warm and dry in the 24 degree weather and ankle deep snow. The aspect I like most about the Zephyrs is the amount of confidence I have in my feet now, something I've never had in any other hiking boots.

Kayland Zephyr Hiking Boot - Men's

December 19, 2009

Yes they will break-in! I had the same concern when I first put them on and wore them around the house. But once I got out on the trails that feeling went away. I've put about 10mi on them and there are no pressure points just amazing stability. They do still feel narrow when I first put them on but the feeling is gone once I start moving. I hope you gave them a try and didn't send them back!

Kayland Zephyr Hiking Boot - Men's

November 13, 2009

They Zephyrs I just got feel narrow. I'm very picky about a precise fit but haven't ever found it in a hiking boot. I definitely don't need a bigger size because my heel feels secure and there is no bunching in the toe box. Just pressure on the outside of my pinky toe. What am I to do? Will they "break-in" to my foot shape?

Won't break an ankle.

Kayland Zephyr Hiking Boot - Men's

Kayland Zephyr Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 13, 2009

I begged @backcountrycom to get these on their site cause they're Backpacker Mag's 2009 Editors Choice winner and I wanted them but only through this site.

I received them about an hour ago and just tied them on. They are incredibly sturdy and have a ton of ankle support. They narrow to me and not sure if they will break-in to the width of my foot so I'm kind of stumped right now. All I can say is that they are "pretty cool" because they look and feel awesome(except for the narrowness) but they haven't left the house yet.
