Patagonia Wool 1 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Patagonia Wool 1 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2010

I sometimes get chills when a breeze blows on me when I'm in a soaking wool 1 shirt after a hard run in the summer heat. It's very durable, doesn't smell, wicks like a beast, and is the best base layer I own. It's worth the cost, hands down.

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2010

This bad boy does everything as advertised. It's so nice to be able to throw 100 oz (I definitely recommend going with the 100 oz for backpacking) of good ole' dihydrogen monoxide in your pack and have a sip without having to take off your pack and reach for your water bottle that costs about the same as this pack and holds 1/4 the liquid. Very reasonably priced for such a high quality piece of gear.

R2 Pirate Blue Furnace

Patagonia R2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

Patagonia R2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 24, 2010

I really like the R2, it's a great jacket for me. Top notch quality, very soft, and as soon as I put it on I can feel the heat retention. As others have mentioned, it's not stated to be windproof, and it's certainly not. But it sure fits perfect under a rain shell so that takes care of that.

Not being able to afford a dedicated technical fleece it's nice to be able to have it function so well just wearing around town. This is worth the money, it has Patagonia quality, it's warm, breathes well and looks/feels great.

Patagonia R2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

February 24, 2010

I'm 6'3" 215 and teetered between the L and XL. I tried them both on and went with the XL because the L was just a bit tighter than I want in a fleece that will be worn as an every day coat as well as a technical layer when backpacking. When I tried on the L I had no problems at all with length, so in my opinion at your H/W you'd be better suited with the Large, the XL will be too bulky as a tech piece in my opinion.

Backcountry.com Dreamland T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

February 10, 2010

I'm 6'3" 220, athletic build, and a L in this shirt fits great. It's not too tight, but it's certainly not baggy. If you prefer a baggy fit I'd go with the XL. Otherwise you're right on with L.

Hi-Qual

Princeton Tec Quad Headlamp

Princeton Tec Quad Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 February 10, 2010

Really well designed, minimalistic headlamp that offers plenty of brightness for a variety of settings. Within minutes of wearing it you no longer realize it is on your head, and it's various settings as well as pivoting gives maximum usability. Works perfect when navigating the forest in the pitch black. Came in handy when hunting and fishing as well as camping/hiking. It's a really useful headlamp!

Solid Pants

Columbia Lander Pant - Men's

Columbia Lander Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 10, 2010

These pants are comfy, look sharp, and come at a very reasonable price. I really like how they feel and they are well designed, I wear them often around town and out for a stroll in the woods. They are not "khaki" fancy, but they can function as a step up from jeans in that category when worn with a nice shirt. Nice deep pockets really make carrying things easy and feel like there's nothing there in the first place.

The one thing I noticed with these pants relative to a variety of other styles/brands in the same size is that they are a little shorter lenght-wise. Not to the point of looking like flood pants, but you may consider going a step up with length of inseam if you're worried about that.

All in all, I'm very happy to get a pair of quality, comfortable pants for 30 bucks.

this 1/4 zip is an excellent buy. It is both stylish and a great technical wicking piece, not to mention the anti-odor treatment is such a sweet bonus. I love this thing, so comfortable, I wear it all the time.

I was wondering if anyone could comment on the hood of this jacket? Is it down filled as well, or is it just thin material? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief - Men's

ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 16, 2009

I don't normally like boxer-briefs, but I love these. They prevent all chafing when running, they wick sweat like a dream, and they are extremely supportive. I ran 15 miles in them over a week this summer and they didn't smell one bit. They are quick drying so rinsing them with some water is no problem to get the salt out, wring them out and then let them dry for a bit. Initially I bought 3 pair, but returned one, because they are so durable I only needed 2. They are great for hiking, running and traveling. I even wore them on a flight from Detroit to Hawaii and back with none of the usual discomfort from sweating in my seat thanks to their wicking power.

Seriously, buy them.

great bottle

CamelBak Better Bottle w/ Bite Valve - .75L

CamelBak Better Bottle w/ Bite Valve - .75L

Rating for this product: 5 November 16, 2009

A simple yet highly functional water bottle. The design is great, and definitely no leakage at all. I find myself drinking more water relative to my Sigg when I use this at work (under non-rationing conditions). I highly recommend it.

A color side note: I purchased midnight for my brother and it's way more purple than dark blue.
