Do not buy one of these!

Suunto Bike POD

Suunto Bike POD

Rating for this product: 1 February 22, 2005

The title says it all. The device is erratic in catching the speed on a consistent basis. I have been in contact with Suunto support and they suggested buying a handle bar mount or moving the placement of the watch on my wrist. Neither of these is really acceptable for me on my bike. I wanted a wrist mounted unit, and to have it at an angle on the wrist where I can read it.

If you want a HRM with Bike functions look at the Polar versions, I understand that they are more reliable!

T6 - Improving

Suunto T6 Watch

Suunto T6 Watch

Rating for this product: 3 October 7, 2004

I have been using the T6 for about 6 weeks now. I moved up from an X6. Basically the general watch functions are very similar, and training software seems very good. My only complaint is that chest strap does not pickup my heart rate very reliably. It seems to go through blank patches on nearly every use when riding my bike or using a rowing machine. My old unit was more reliable, and my solar is better than either of the Suunto units in this regard.
