Ruffwear Bark'n Boots Grip Trex - Set of 4

Rating for this product: 5 September 6, 2009

We live in the Phoenix, AZ area so the pavement is way HOT, HOT, HOT. We like to go hiking, and even the bare ground gets intolerable to our Lab puppy's new little paws. He's 6 months old, and we started using these at 4.5 months. We put them on before we leave the house, and re-check the fit (as the instructions state) prior to heading out on the trail. No Problems! He prances at first, and then runs up the trail to the top of the hill, and runs back. He loves to go to Petsmart with us and is happy to put his "shoes" on prior to leaving the house if it means another adventure with the family.I was originally going to give this product 4 stars because I thought the fit could be improved a little bit, but after thinking about it 5 stars is more accurate. We went with these because getting the right size is so much easier with these than anything else we were thinking about. Some places want you to measure the dogs foot, and also suggest that the earlier you start a dog with the shoes the easier it will be for them to accept them. So we tried to stand (and you have to stand the dog to get an accurate measurement) our 4.5 month 50 pound bundle of Chocolate Labrador energy to get this measurement. Forget it! Thank god for easy sizing.

Sorry, don't have any pics of Scooby with his shoes on, but a pup that bobs for beer is always a good shot. FYI we did not make a bottle opener available to him.
