This head lamp is really one of the best ones that I have had. I love anything with the BD name so it made it that much better too. It really gives off a good bit of light on high and low and makes it easy to do many things in the complete dark. I not only use this for camping but also when Im under my truck and cant see something

My friend Mike has this chair and he really likes. Its a great chair for many different events from football games tocamping and maybe even hiking it you have the room for it.

The prolite plus is a great slleping pad for any kind of camping. It is very comfortable and easy to maintain.

The Large cover fits over my Gregory Palisade perfectly and since it has a little extraroom it includes my sleeping pad on the side as well. Great packcover and keeps everything dry

This is a great pack. I hvae taken it on some recent day hikes just getting in shape for the nig AT hike and this pack has really handled everything quite well. The Osprey I originally ordered did not fit with the vent scape air pocket on my back so this one with the straight back is the best for me and its really comfortable

These things are great. I tested it out with some tshirts in it and dunked it in a pool and the shirts were completely dry. I would trust anything that cannot get wet in this bag. This bag will keep your sleeping bag dry on all the long and wet hikes you take

If you dont cook it just right it probably wont be as good but I tend to add a little less water than they tell you to use and cook it a little bit longer. The flavor is ok not great

These are exactly what it says only eggs. Even though I dont like eggs by themselves if you do this would be a good lightweight breakfast. I prefer the eggs with bacon but both are good meals.

This stuff is a decent product. They were giving samples away at the EMS up here and I have to say its not too bad. It doesnt have a great taste but after drinking only water for a couple months on the trail Im sure it would taste amazing. PLus it does help you stay hydrated

I have always only trusted Black Diamond for my harnesses and I do the same for the chalk bag. The slot that you see a tootlbrush in is really good for a slim jim too lol

This is the best chalk for rockclimbing hands down. We go rappeling in south GA where it gets hot and we sweat a lot but this stuff keeps your hands dry and allows you to keep a good grip

These are ok but I would prefer a sork just to save weight. When they fold up they are very small and easy to pack but you have to carry 2 a spoon and a fork. I would prefer one like this but both

these are great bowls for backpacking and camping but I have found that the collapseable tupperwareworks better for me just because it comes with a lid and I can use it to store things if I need to. These bowls are easy to clean

Another great item to have while camping although unless I was witha big group I wouldnt take this backpacking. It is light weight for all the stuff it has in it but you have to completely dry the sponge and towel otherwise everything gets to be a mess

This is a great thing to have when car camping. It is very good at holding water and it keeps it shape. The best combination that i have used is to use this for the soap water and cleaning and take a folding water carrier and use the spout to rinse off the dishes.

This is by far my favorite desert while camping. I take these with me on regular camping trips not just backpacking. Mountain house is really a great food company and their food is a great treat for those eating trail food for a while. After eating ramen noodles for two months this will seem life you are at a 5 star restaraunt

This is a good fast breakfast for hikers especially after 2 or 3 months of mostly cereal bars and poptarts. They taste pretty good, not something I would make for other people to eat at my house but I have had an empty pantry and cooked these before and they are great

The jet boil fuel works great and you can use it with msr stoves like the pocketrocket for shorter trips and they are cheaper. The down side is that you can use it the other way. the thread patterns are the same but you cant fit the msr fuel canister with the jetboil.

I like camelback bags but Im not sure so much on the bottles. They are very well constructed. To me I dont like the mouth piece exposed and you have to put your hands all over the bite valve to pull it up and drink. So if you are working with messy conditions that means making it quite dirty to drink out of. I prefer the nalgene where you screw off the top but this bottle is a good one too

This kit makes cleaning a resevoir easier than ever. I am very impressed of how easy it is to clean my 3L bag with the kit

There is a reason that this is possibly the top seller in fleeces and that is because of how good it looks. Everyone I know that works in the cold has 2 or 3 of these things. They look good but the performance of these are not that of what im looking for. They keep you warm in moderate cool weather but if it gets colder than about 50 these just do not work which a fleece should do in my opinion. But they look great and people still buy them

This hat did better than I thought it would. The only thing i would like more is just a thicker hat but under armour makes great clothing. It kept my head pretty warm inside a air conditioned store to the point where I had to take it off it was too hot so I would imagine that it would be great in cold weather but if you need something for extreme cold I would get a different one

this worked well for an emergency situation. I have used this on a survival campout when in scouts and it worked well but dont plan on using this as a warm substitute for a real sleeping bag the durability for it is questionable

When I was working at BPS we sld a lot of these tents because of the price but we also sent a lot back bc people were not happy with them. Just remember a good price does not outweigh the quality of the tent

A lot of people underestimate the importance of a comfortable helmet. These helmets are very comfortable and my scout troop has 4 pairs of these and a couple of old ones. you would be surprised how quickly these get snatched up by the older scouts

These are by far my favorite figure 8's to use. The clip in hole just seems to be the perfect size for my carabiners unlike some that I have bought and just dont seem to fit right or you have to angle the biner just right to hook in.

I bought this towel the other day and used it after a regular shower at the house. Im a big guy so I have plenty to dry and i was shocked at how well this thing soaks up water and even better how quick it dries. I have the medium size and it works great

I use this biner to clip on anything heavy and to tie up loads that I wouldnt trust regular hooks with. This is a great carabiner and even though you shouldnt use it for climbing i have secured things they weigh more than 150lbs in the air it had no problem

I bought this tool today and used it on a couple of things to test out all the functions. It works great and unlike some multitools i have bought in the past, it really does a great job as far as durability.

I forgot to mention that they dont come with the rubber tips so i went out and bought a pair. They are real cheap you just need to make sure you get some so you aer tearing up the trail

The only thing I forgot to mention was the multi fuel part. Although you can use anything to make it work most people that use other fuels than regular IsoPro fuel complain that it clogs up and doesnt lite very well after using other fuels for long but it is great in the chance that you cant find the IsoPro close by on the trail

This is a great overall stove. Its good for weekend long campouts but to me its not a great backpacking stove and not a group stove. It works very well except in high wind but all u need is a windscreen and it works better than you could ever ask

So far this is my favorite pullover that I bought for my trip. It keeps you very warm while being a light style jacket great for camping and backpacking. This is definitely going on the A.T. with me

These are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I usually wear a size 12 shoe but the guy said i needed something smaller so when I put them on I expected it to be uncomfortable but the shoe really is comfortable. I still recommend using the propper size boots/shoes but these shoes are light weight and breathe rather well. The only thing I have heard people complain about was the sole coming separated after extreme use

This sleeping bag is a pretty good bag but the only thing I didnt like about it was the shape of it. Im a bigger guy and it really makes you sleep in an awkward position because of how it is tapered in right at the hips. The bag does a great job of keeping you warm but I would recommend many other bags before this one especially if you want something a little more spacey

Ths is by far my favorite carabiner to use when I climb and rappel. The twist and lock makes it better than the screw locking beaners just because it has a smaller chance of the gate failing because it opens. It is lighter than the steel biners but we have used two of these for over 10 years and have even had them xrayed to check for small cracks. Since they are old we did retire them but we went back and bought the same ones

I just bought this pad the other day and i have slept both nights on the floor and could barely tell a difference between my mattress and this pad. Both sides of the pad are ridged cushions so it is not only soft it gives it a better fit to your body. The extreme lightweight makes it a backpackers best friend. It is bigger than the inflatable thermarests but it cant pop and you can store it anywhere on your pack and not worry about it shifting a lot of weight. so far it was shown to be very durable when I have pulled and bent it with no signs of wear or tear

This is probably one of the most genius ideas ever created. Although I did not buy my separately it came with my pot and pan set and probably is the most important piece of the set. The design was genius and if you can somehow break it then you dont deserve to go camping. Definitely one of MSR's top 5 products just because of how great it works

This is without a doubt the best filter for anyone planning on attacking a major hiking trip such as the Appalachian trail. The filter works for up to 2000 liters which is more than what you are going to use on the trail. The bottom screws onto my nalgene bottle which makes it great for cutting out the middle man. It is long lasting and easy to clean if you ever get to that point.

This is the best backpacker stove on the market. It is a very simple construction. The only problem you might have is when it is windy but a wind screen or my solution which is to set up a wall with my sleeping pad eliminates any problems and you only need to do that in extreme wind. The weight of the stove alone is enough for me but the price and ease of use just made it better and better. One of the most important things about it is the price so even if for some reason you have a complete failure you only need $30-$35 and you can get a new one.

My friend Mike #23 gear guru told me about these poles so when I was purchasing gear i checked them out and they really are the most comfortable poles I have ever used. They are extremely lightweight which is perfect for when you just want to carry them along. One of the best features to me is the wrist straps. Most other poles have the nylon straps that rub and grind into your skin all day on a climb but these are so comfortable I swear you will forget you even have the poles on your hands

I love this bladder. My pack has a perfect sleeve for it and the durability along with the ease of cleaning makes this resevoir my favorite on any trail.

I used this tent in the rain and it worked just like it is supposed to. Im a bigger guy so it was important to get a lightrweight tent that had a decent amount of room for me and my pack or me and another person. This tent has both.
