Willy, I don't train anywhere near 100 mpw but I do wear Injinis. The performance socks (coolmax)have good durability but the outdoor ones (wool) wear out quickly.

Pete, depends on how much you drink and how far apart the aid stations are. Remember, water is heavy, and extra weight will burn calories and reduce energy. You should only carry enough to get you to the next aid station. You can re-fill there.

The Nano Puff is pretty shiny in my opinion. I prefer the material used for the down sweater. The Puff still looks good though.

I've had mine for several years and never had a mold problem. After every use, I rinse the bladder with plain water and then clean it with a mixture of water and Listerine. Then I drain it but leave any residual liquid in the bladder. I store the bladder in the refrigerator until I'm ready to use it again. Just make sure you rinse out the listerine before using.

Weight is only one factor in determining ski length. You must also consider your height.
(height in inches x 2.6 + 15 = ski length in cm) If you are light for you height you can go shorter. If you are heavy for your height, you can go with a longer ski.

The collar come close to the chin but not right up to it. It also does not fit real close to the neck so wind penetration is an issue.

Yes, order up a size and trim them down using the insoles that came with the shoe as a template. Using a box cutter works much better than using scissors.

The tent does have a lot of mesh so if you are in a dry, dusty area and the wind is blowing it could be a problem. Better off using the fly.

These provide excellent traction on ice. I've never done a track workout in them but have run down steep ice-covered hills without any slippage. They should work fine for you.

I've also used these the past two years for winter trail running over a mix of snow, ice and rock. They have held up well and provide a good grip on rocks (unless they are at a super steep angle). I think extensive rock running would shorten the life of the spikes or chains though.

I agree you should go with the smartwool trail socks for the winter. They have more cushioning and thicker than the regular running ones and will keep your feet warm in cold weather.

the micro barely comes out of the shoe, the mini is just over the ankle bone and the 1/4 crew is about 2 inches above the ankle bone.

Go by the sizing chart. It's very precise. if but some chance you fall in between sizes i would go with the smaller one. you want these to fit snug. that's where the benefit comes from

Gore-tex shoe is heavier. Will keep feet dry in wet conditions but if water gets into shoe ( stream crossing) it wont drain as well as the non gore-tex version.

The outersole is much different. The sole on the Overdrive separates from the midsole after less than 100 miles. Don't buy them. The Overdrive II has a new sole design that is much better. It wont fall apart.
