Are the degree options for both edge & base just a personal preference, or is there a preferred angle for icy/granular (New England) skiing?

Great trail running/hiking shoe

Montrail Vitesse Trail Running Shoe - Womens

Montrail Vitesse Trail Running Shoe - Womens

Rating for this product: 4 September 30, 2004

This is my 2nd pair of Vitesse's, the 1st pair being a size too small so I stubbed my toes on downhills. They are super light weight, handle slippery surfaces well enough and provide enough support to the sole of my feet that I prefer them for day hikes, trail running and mtn biking.
