this is for the insulated specter , I usually do not give 5 stars for any thing but for an insulated jacket that I can wear around my house with the hood cinched for an hour and not overheat is a truly marvelous invention, it really does breathe that well. as it is still end of summer this is just a partial review. my job takes indoors and outdoors all winter and layers can be a pain to reassemble this little lovely although it is probally not meant as town jacket will do beautifully this is my fourth westcomb jacket I have had the revelstoke [pretty good a little baggy] the cruiser jacket [excellent ony reason I sold it was to finance this one ] and a name unknown powersheild softshell that makes me feel like spider man it is so comfortable and stretchy. I think I will go buy a Flex hybrid tommorow you should too buy some thing from these folk s

I just picked up a new genesis for 180 cad. I had a OR MITHRIL that was a decent Jacket pretty waterproof but was tight under the arms in a medium and a largewas to big. I also have an arcteryx gamma mx hoody that is super comfortable but kind of thin and does not offer the level of protection that my new genisis does this thing feels bombproof definitely a winter weight softshell. I love the attention to detail pitzips work one handed easily drawstrings are excellent hood is excellent the looks of this jacket are as amazing atheletic fit but room one middle layer all I need in Vancouver weather.My few minor complaints are velcro on sleeves and back of hood does not feel to sticky and may move when wet, jacket could be about an inch longer that would be great.but by no means are these minor issues deal breakers as all in all form fit and function as well as looks are great

this is a wicked Jacket some how is form fitting but also has room for layers an engineering marvel it is very comfortable breathable and waterproof my only critique is the hood could use 1 more adjustment, I still love it though especially since it is made 2 blocks from my house and I picked it up for 180 canadian. I also have a westcomb revelstoke that I picked up cheap at their factory clearance and an aztec softshell that was 40 bucks!!! ocasionally things are cheaper on this side of the border hopefully they have a fall sale can,t wait

This is a great jacket very breathable and durable with good quality construction what Montane fails in is cuff design it is impossible to snug up the cuffs by yourself I also had a venture Jacket from Montane that had the same problem
