Salomon Czar Ski

January 12, 2011

I ski switch a ton. I also am in big mountain extremes where I need to be able to float and charge. Has anyone mounted this ski in front of the "progressive" line which is 5cm back? I was looking to mount this ski closer to true center maybe 2cm back. I am 5'6" and about 145lbs and ski the 190s. I also wish salomon would lose the crap capped sidewall construct.

Spin off that cornice and land switch

Nordica Zero Ski

Nordica Zero Ski

Rating for this product: 4 September 13, 2010

throw a pair of rossi xxl 15 or higher din bindings on (true center mount of course) to spin off natural bc features and ski out switch. Not recommended if you do not have a nice pow ski for 8" fresh or more because you will need to be in the backseat for float and your quads will probably not be in shape for it unless you ski a ton. A bit wide for park jib but good in the air. No problems charging through the crud unless its above your boot with crust stabbing your shins.

Line Sir Francis Bacon Ski

September 13, 2010

they are all on crack... 172 is going to be a bit long and bulky for you if you are 125 and a girl. Guys tend to have more muscle mass and being smaller 5'7" 145 I stick to 177cm or under even for pow... and I charge with dins cranked at 13. Where you mount your bindings will also make the ski ride smaller if they are close to true center or center. If you are using this as your all-mountain go shorter(162), for pow only/mostly go bigger (172). However, you should really try and demo a pair of 162s before you purchase. Although lifetime return policy sooo....

Good buy for the $$

Black Diamond Bandit AvaLung Package

Black Diamond Bandit AvaLung Package

Rating for this product: 3 September 13, 2010

Yes it is a bit small. But light day trippin' is fine. You have to provide the water pouch/camelback addition which is a good idea to save room/crap hanging off the outside. Strapping your skiis to the pack and off the pack can be a bit tedious and pow skis do not/BARELY fit in the bottom loop (you have to binding rig it). I have never been comfortable with skiis on the back with this for extended periods...but again, day trippin'. The shovel and it's pocket kick ass as a spine protector as well, just have the water pouch, extra beanie or base layer inside the pack...avoid hard bulky objects they hurt the kidneys.

AFD breaks EASY

Marker Duke 16 Ski Binding

Marker Duke 16 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 1 October 1, 2009

So hopefully they figured something out for the AFD. I broke both mine within a month of use. My freind also broke one of his. I spoke with the local shops in town and right now they are totally out of the AFD peices and have become jerks about warranting them without proof of purchase. For the Burliest AT binding on the market they sure do break easy.
