It's late summer in Patagonia now and not cold so this will for sure hold up to temps. I camped/trekked in Patagonia in early December(spring)once and the temps varied. One moment I was hiking in a long sleeved base layer and sweating, and later in a fleece and rain jacket. I never wore more than that.

I found this jacket to run a little big and the sleeves are very long for the size. I'm 5'2" and have the xs and the sleeves hung over my finger tips. I also have the Mountain Hardwear Subzero parka which runs smaller and the sleeves are only just long enough.
