The North Face Ray 20 Backpack - Women's - 1200cu in

October 7, 2010

I have this backpack and have a difficult time fitting a camelbak bottle in the side pockets if I have a regular sized notebook in the bag. I usually wind up carrying my water bottle.

Didn't fit right.

The North Face Mendocino Stripe Short - Women's

The North Face Mendocino Stripe Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 March 17, 2010

I'm usually a size 8 in TNF pants. The size 10 in these shorts was too baggy and the size 8 was too tight in the thighs/felt like it would shrink too much after 1 wash. They weren't flattering. The print was super cute so I was sad to return them.

The North Face Momentum Hybrid 1/4-Zip Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

The North Face Momentum Hybrid 1/4-Zip Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 17, 2010

This shirt is cut really well. I usually wear a women's size 8 and the medium fit perfectly. The material is warm but super lightweight and breathes incredibly well. It's nice that the sleeves are long enough for the thumb holes to fit comfortably instead of pulling awkwardly. I got the merlot red and the picture is pretty true to the real color.

Carhartt Easy-Fit Sandstone Carpenter Pant - Women's

Carhartt Easy-Fit Sandstone Carpenter Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 17, 2010

I usually wear an 8 reg and the 8x32 fit fine. The hips are a little big for me because the waistband is higher than I'm used to. Other than that, they're definitely the typical durable Carhartt pants. The material is tough and will withstand tons of forestry activities.

Backcountry.com Merino Crew Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2010

My favorite base layer - fits PERFECTLY. I got the guacamole color and it's more of a pretty lime color. It's cut really well, is warm, absorbs moisture, doesn't smell, and has thumbholes! I don't know what else you need. Best shirt ever. I'm 5'5" and 135 lbs and the medium fits perfectly.

Backcountry.com Merino Hiking Sock - 3-Pack

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2010

Very warm with a good arch support. They shrunk a little in the dryer but still fit. Not as durable as some other midweight socks I have, but still very comfortable and warm!

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

It's the Denali... everyone in downtown Chicago has one and for a good reason. It's incredibly warm and doesn't make you look like a huge marshmallow. True to size and very comfortable.

The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Women's

The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

I wore this jacket on a trip around Lake Superior in spring and if I didn't have it I'm not sure I would have finished the trip. It's like wearing armor - you can feel the wind whipping around you, but your torso stays completely warm. Totally worth the money and it's cute too!

Not my favorite Chacos

Chaco ZX/2 Unaweep Sandal - Backcountry.com Exclusive - Women's

Chaco ZX/2 Unaweep Sandal - Backcountry.com Exclusive - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 October 8, 2009

This is my second pair of Chacos and I'm not a fan of the double strap. It's incredibly difficult to adjust and kept slipping around. I finally got annoyed and sold them on ebay. I had a Z/2 pair before and LOVED those because once you adjusted them, they stayed put and didn't hurt. Chacos are great and totally worth the money, but I'd go for a regular Z/1 or Z/2.

Warm, Compact

The North Face Chrysalis Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

The North Face Chrysalis Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

I looked into a lot of sleeping bags before buying this one. I went camping in high elevation where it dropped to around 10 degrees. Even though this bag is rated to 15, I stayed warm. It's really warm and I love the zipper at the bottom so my feet can stick out. The bag is really compact so it can fit in a small space of a backpacking bag. My only complaint is sometimes the bag leaks feathers onto you when you're sleeping so you look funny in the morning.

KEEN Newport Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

These are by far the comfiest shoes I have EVER worn. I wore them for 2 weeks straight and climbed several mountains in them. I've worn them kayaking, hiking, and to work. My feet usually hurt at the end of the day, but these shoes are amazing. Worth every cent.

The North Face Velocitee Crew - Short-Sleeve - Women's

The North Face Velocitee Crew - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

I read a lot of reviews saying it ran small, but thought it ran true to size. It's a cute shirt and fit well but I didn't like how thin the fabric was. It would be great on a really hot day, though.

Backcountry.com Cocona Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Backcountry.com Cocona Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

This is my favorite hiking shirt. I have the chai/grass one and the color is a really pretty lime. It fits much better than any of my TNF shirts and works really well. It's cute, functional, and has a flattering fit - and it's affordable.

The North Face Momentum Jacket - Women's

The North Face Momentum Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 October 8, 2009

This is really cute jacket with the thumbholes and pretty color, but it's nothing special. It doesn't block wind and is too thin to be warm, so it's not very practical for the climate I live in. I suppose if you lived in a warm climate, this would be a good jacket for summer nights. It's really cute!

LOVE.

The North Face Canmore Lake Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Canmore Lake Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

I've bought and returned several pairs of convertible pants in the search for the right ones. I've tried a couple other TNF pants and several from Columbia, Campmor, and other brands. Most pants are made with material that's too thin and are unflattering on the hips. These pants are made of the perfect material - it's light enough to breathe but thick enough that it doesn't feel like you're wearing kleenex. I love the drawstring and the cute little details. The zipper around the thigh IS a little tight, but I got it a size up and you can just pull the drawstring tighter. The 3-in-1 is awesome and each style is really cute. These pants have a lot of pockets and are actually nice-looking as well as functional. Spend the extra money because these really are the best convertible pants!

Nice look, oddly shaped

The North Face Precita Pant - Women's

The North Face Precita Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 September 21, 2009

These pants are really well made and such a nice look. I really wanted to like them, but they just didn't fit right. The crotch was really low and the waist bulged a bit, even though the rest of the pants fit well. I think women with longer hips would probably really like these pants. Order a size smaller than you would with other TNF pants.
