  • Stomping Grounds:

San Gabriel mountains, Sierras, looking to expand my footprints to Colorado, Oregon and Washington.
  • Bio:

I love to push myself in beauty and feel my power get the turbo from natures power. Two forces working together...and sometimes against. There is no truer religion or experience than that shared with Mother Nature. Love her and respect her and enjoy her. Enhance her as well with some good music, I have THE soundtrack if anyone is interested in swapping some tunes.

Sole Thin Sport Footbed

Sole Thin Sport Footbed

Rating for this product: 4 June 13, 2011

Nice foot beds, thin for low volume shoes, great arch support and the heat molding is pretty cool. Just slipped a couple pair on the last few weeks and I dig! Want to try the thicker ones for my higher volume shoes (La Sportiva Wildcats) and take them out for a spin.

Used to be a Superfeet dude but I think I've switched teams. Go get 'em, heat mold them and eat it up.

More powerful than a lighthouse...

Petzl MYO RXP Headlamp

Petzl MYO RXP Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 June 9, 2011

able to outshine a car headlight, more versatile than duct tape. It's just a solid performer, able to go across the middle and take hits and keep on coming back for more. I've come out of the Sierras in the dark many times with this killer and it felt like I was in a lighted room. Once I left it on next to my face and I got a sunburn, it's powerful!

Great lamp and well worth the price for the power. Never had an issue, buttons have worked for me with gloves on, of course it's going to be a little difficult but a minor issue. Open up the wallet, shoo the moths away, clear off the cobwebs and get it!

Salomon XR Crossmax Neutral Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XR Crossmax Neutral Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 9, 2011

Just got a pair in the mail yesterday and took them out for a steep 6 miler. Looked great, cupped my heel and kept it in place like it really cared about my heel :), arch support was great although inserts are probably a fine add. My only complaint is the traction seems a little loose, could have more aggressive soles. I felt a tad unsure on gnarlier terrain but without incident. Toe box is good and roomy but not so much so and sizing seemed pretty spot on. I wear a 12 normally and got a 12, felt like a match made on that dating site shoeandfoot.com ;)

If you are looking at getting a pair go get 'em and be cool out there. If you can't be good, at least look good for god's sake.

La Sportiva Wildcat Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Wildcat Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 3, 2011

Just got out in these last night and got a quick 6 miles in. Roomy, good cruise control and cushioning. Didn't worry about anything while I was running up and down some steep fire trails. Maybe a little too much room as I'm used to tighter shoes but I think I'll like the change and haven't dialed in the lacing quite yet. Doing 16 in them Saturday so we'll see...

Good shoe, great price and they just work! Cool looking too!

UPDATE: Did my 16 and...performed flawlessly, a little too roomy still but I think that's my fault on the sizing. No foot discomfort, toe jamming, hard heel feeling, great shoe, going to get a 46 instead of 46.5 and hopefully be a little more dialed in.

UPDATE 2: Climbed Bear Creek Spire in the Sierras last weekend and got off route and had to down climb some 5.6-5.7 stuff and these shoes gripped like a rock shoe! Never felt scared or unsure, BRAVO!

Cheers.

prAna Mojo Short - Men's

prAna Mojo Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 April 22, 2011

Not a fan of the latest iteration of the Mojo. The old style with the white stitching were so GD PERFECT! The latest 'improvement' is like New Coke, pointless and horrific! I ordered a couple pair trying to like them but no go. Wait and see if they bring the old style back or improve these. If you don't know the Mojo history then maybe you'll be okay but I doubt it. Mine also came with a crease in them?? What the H!! Not stoked at all.

The North Face Tadpole 23 Bx Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

The North Face Tadpole 23 Bx Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 April 18, 2011

I just wanted to add my five cents. I'm a tall drink, 6'2", and this tent is roomy for one and snug for two. I love the light weight and durability. I've had it since 2004 and I see no signs of wear. Used 20-30 times and could sell as new. If you clicked on this tent because it looks appealing, it is and worth every penny because you can't wear it out...unless you really try.

The North Face Base Camp Duffel Bag - 2560-4395cu in

Rating for this product: 5 April 18, 2011

When the nuclear winter comes and Zombies are on the loose I am going to live inside my extra large and bring my large one with me. Guaranteed to be safe and sound. The only thing I don't like is the black with Silver logo. I have a black with a neon yellow logo that is KILLER and I'd like to buy another one but the black now is not my style. I'd like to check out the Patagonia bags as well.

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 18, 2011

Perfect balance between shell and oversized down jacket. I wear mine on all expeditions that are a little colder than a thermal and not cold enough for a Michelin man. Stylish, warm and a must have. Would like one in a darker blue though...

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

April 18, 2011

Of course hanging is the answer. Have MANY down jackets that are hung in the closet with care like a Christmas stocking. I keep all down hanging and sleeping bags as loosely stuffed into there oversized bags as possible.

Black Diamond Raven Pro Ice Axe

Black Diamond Raven Pro Ice Axe

Rating for this product: 5 April 18, 2011

Great ax! I've used mine to replace an old heavy I found online a few years ago. Lightweight, good looks, form and function are at a maximum here. I even take mine out to bars and pick up chicks! Less expensive than a Rolex and feels real secure when climbing tall blondes.

Salomon SpeedCross 2 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon SpeedCross 2 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 24, 2009

These babies are super snug, super cool and have held up fairly well. Haven't beat them too hard yet as they do seem a little on the fragile side. Soles are grippy, lacing is trippy and I'd even wear them to run in Mississippi.

A few compliments and with flippers my size they make my feet look a little bit smaller so that is a bonus. Comfortable and cool and worth the dough. I rate these a BUY! Bullish on the Speedcross 2!

Montrail Mountain Masochist Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 24, 2009

Stop the questions, stop the research, stop the insanity, just do it! True to size, good roomy toe box but not so much so, good support, stability, light, cool looking and performance loaded.

Fire the credit card up and put the chips down on these.

Stoic Luft Insulated Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Insulated Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 December 24, 2009

The Stoic is a cool looking piece of jacket however it is a little restrictive around the arms when bending them to put on a hat, sling a backpack, belay a partner or possibly pick a bat out of the cave. The back seems a little tight as well. I'm hardly a hulk of a dude, 6'2" 180 wearing a size L.

Not quite sold on it yet...we'll see.
