Not as good as last year's Crimpit's

The North Face Roadhog Cargo Short - Men's

The North Face Roadhog Cargo Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 23, 2006

I was a little dissapointed with these shorts. I feel they are cut smaller than the Crimpit's from last year. A size 34 is a bit tighter on the waist and shorter on the inseam. But they are still good shorts, and the guys and gals at here do a fantastic job as always. So I give these shorts 3 stars.

Great shirt at a great price!!

The North Face Salt Wash Plaid Shirt

The North Face Salt Wash Plaid Shirt

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2006

I bought this shirt for a trip to Amsterdam in July of 2006. I must say that it fits well. The shirt is light and cool and did not fade after washing. I bought a size large to anticipate shrinkage. I'm very happy with this shirt, and I think you will be too. So I give this shirt five stars, and I give the staff 10 stars.

Marmot Eiger 36 Backpack - 2200 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 March 30, 2005

I was looking for a good ''Med'' size pack. Not to big and not to small. The Eiger was just right.Plenty of room on the inside for small items. Multiple straps on the outside that can hold almost anything. I carried a sleeping pad and a good size stuff sack on the outside of this pack. Pack also has a
integrated daisy chain. The Eiger is also a comfortable pack. A few simple adjustments and it was ready to go. So for size, design, quality, versatility and
price I give the Eiger five stars.

Rating for this product: 5 March 30, 2005

Really not much to say. This is a great shirt for a baselayer or everyday use. I wore this shirt under a down parka. It was very soft and comfortable. The great thing is there is no bothersome tags on the back. Ok I give the El Cap five stars for comfort, style and construction. Thanks Backcountry.

Kick ass duffel!!!

The North Face Base Camp Duffel

The North Face Base Camp Duffel

Rating for this product: 5 February 21, 2005

I wanted a good duffel for a trip to Egypt this Spring. Well, I found one. TNF Camp Duffel is it. Not to big and not to small. Just right. Plenty of space to pack everything you need. A tough duffel with a rubber coated surface to repel water. Zippers are big and strong. There is also a unique I.D. sleeve on the top of the bag. Great idea. Forgot to mention that I bought a size large. Ok I give TNF Camp Duffel 5 stars for toughness, looks, storage space and over all design.

One tough biner.

Black Diamond Positron Carabiner

Black Diamond Positron Carabiner

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2005

I used this biner at my local climbing gym and I like it. With the bent gate I found it much more easy to clip in and out of the rope. Gate action is smooth also.

Sabretooth Crampons....grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon

Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2005

These crampons are super tough and not
too heavy. I have not yet had the chance to use them. Will very soon. I'm wearing
Koflach Degre's and stepping into the Sabretooth's are very easy. Adjustability is great and the fit is good and tight.
You might have a problem if your boot size is greater than 13. I wear a 12.5 and the Spread bar is maxed out. Ok I hope this bit of info helps. So for the
price, durability and ease of use I give them 5 stars.

Very nice!!

The North Face Pipe Dragon Lace Boot - Men's

The North Face Pipe Dragon Lace Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 13, 2004

Wow,these are really nice boots. The fit and comfort are great. The PrimaLoft insulation is soft and warm. Traction is very good. Not sure how good they would perform on ice or in snow. It would have been nice if The North Face could have designed them to accommodate gaiters. Anyway if your looking for a good looking boot to wear on a day hike or around town. The Pipe is it. I have nothing bad to say about the Pipe Dragons. So I give them 5 stars. Thanks again Backcountry.

Super nice pants.

The North Face Apex Pant - Mens

The North Face Apex Pant - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 November 10, 2004

I bought a few pairs of these pants for a trip the Greece in the spring of 05.They are very comfortable and they shed water very well. The Apex comes with alot of storage space. Two large cargo pockets in the front that can hold just about anything. The zip pocket in the back was kind of a pain in the ass. The zipper is to small so when you close it
it wants to ''hang-up'' a bit. I do like
the extended side zips located at the ankles. The zips start at the ankles and go almost to the knees. Great for extra ventilation. But I would only wear these pants in cooler climates. Any temp's above 75F you risk sweating your ass off.Ok,the Apex's are comfortable, well built and wash up great so I give them a
well earned 5 stars. Thanks again Backcountry.

Tikka Plus ROCKS!!!

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 November 4, 2004

This little LED headlamp is the best!I lost power for over a week due to hurricane Ivan. As night fell I used the Tikka Plus to help get things done like cooking ,cleaning and picking up after the storm. This lamp did not let me down at all. I used the ''med'' setting which was more than enough light. The batteries showed NO sign of fading. It is easy to wear and has no weight. After using this lamp,I can't live without it. As soon as I got power back I ordered three more Tikka's for backup. As for that I give the Tikka 5 stars. Thank you Backcountry!

TNF- TKA 100 Glacier!

The North Face TKA 100 Glacier 1/4 Zip Fleece Pullover - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 3, 2004

The Glacier is really nice ''warm, soft''
shirt/base layer.I have not really had the chance to test it out in very cold conditions yet. But I know it will perform great. I plan on wearing it under a Gore-Tex jacket so I'am sure it will kick ass. So, as for feel, fit and overall construction of the Glacier I give it 5 stars. Thanks again Backcountry.

The North Face Crimpit cargo pants.

The North Face A5 Crimpit Cargo Pant - Mens

The North Face A5 Crimpit Cargo Pant - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 September 15, 2004

I got to say that I LOVE these pants!!! I bought a pair for my trip to Spain to watch the bulls run. The comfort
and feel of these pants kick ass. Perfect fit and plenty of pocket space. Before I bought them I was not very sure on the size (34 long.) I do have the waist size but I'm almost 6'5'' would they fit? When they arrived after being washed and dried no problems. More than enough length. These were the only pants I wore on my trip. As soon as I got back to the states I ordered 4 more pairs and may order another. So yes,I give the Crimpits 5 stars. Thanks Backcountry.com
