The North Face Apex Mckinley Softshell Jacket - Men's

The North Face Apex Mckinley Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 19, 2010

Great purchase. Bought it at a discounted rate through Backcountry at the end of the cold season. Temps in the northwest are lowering which has finally given me the opportunity to test the product. Keeps me warm in cool temps with a stiff wind. Very happy! Bought it in classic black. Would pay full price if I had to purchase another.

The North Face Elysium Down Jacket - Men's

The North Face Elysium Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 25, 2010

I purchased the 2008 model in blue last summer and after wearing this jacket here in Idaho during the cold months it has performed great thus far. This jacket as mentioned in some of the other reviews is less puffier and more fitting than the Nuptse. I found this jacket to be quite warm in temps ranging between 0 and 30 degrees and that is being in the elements for an hour or so. Only complaint is the sleeves seem to be a little short. I'm 5'8 about 160 lbs and the medium fits well with the exception of the sleeves. Also, I typically wear just a long sleeve t-shirt underneath which seems to be adequate when dealing with the outside temps noted above. I've had many compliments on this jacket and it has performed well in my opinion. With the slight shortness of the sleeves, I would still purchase this jacket again if I had to replace it. (Purchased from Backcountry on sale during the summer $149.00).

The North Face Pamir WindStopper Jacket - Men's

The North Face Pamir WindStopper Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 8, 2009

Wind resistant as advertised! Used it fly-fishing and commuting on a mountain bike and the wind didn't stand a chance. As mentioned in the other testimonials, if the temps dip into the 30's or so, I found it was too thin to keep me adequately warm. Sleeves are a little tight to layer a thick undershirt. Overall, great jacket for combating the wind. Would purchase another if I lost it!
