Keeps me warm during long belays

Outdoor Research Chaos Insulated Parka - Women's

Outdoor Research Chaos Insulated Parka - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 27, 2009

I got this jacket for ice climbing in New England. Very few companies are making long, insulated jackets that are also TECHNICAL. This one does it and does it well. Finally, my butt stays warm! I got a small, which fits well for hanging out in town, but is too small for all my layers when I'm out climbing. So size up if you want it to function as a good belay coat!

My Go-To Jacket for the mountains

Outdoor Research Ferrosi Hooded Softshell Jacket - Women's

Outdoor Research Ferrosi Hooded Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 27, 2009

As soon as the snow started to melt in the mountains, this has been my #1 go-to jacket for all my activities: rock climbing, hiking, and even heading out to dinner with friends. It is lightweight, yet bomb-proof... the perfect middle ground between a windshirt and a softshell. The fabric is comfortably stretchy and the cut is flattering. I used to be a lightweight windshirt person, but after ripping too many of them, I'm now sold on the Ferrosi for nearly everything.
