Backcountry Access Stash BC Pack - 2135cu in

August 17, 2009

The one in the middle is me and the Stash BC.
It is loaded with my ice tool crampons, food, water, helmet and extra layers for a full day of touring in AK and is still comfortably snug to my back with no lateral play.

The Bombshells are the Bomb!!

22 Designs Bombshell Telemark Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 November 12, 2009

Some companies' approach to women specific gear is to dumb it down, not 22 Designs. They use the same Beefy construction and materials that they use to make the male/unisex counter parts (hammer head) and just tweak the dimensions for a more woman friendly fit.
They are a super fun and responsive binding whether you ski in resort, slack country, or backcountry. The binding does not have a free pivot tour (like 22designs Axl) but by changing the pivot position and using the touring heal piece touring is still an option with these bindings, and believe me, you will be really happy when you get to the top and have your bombshells for the decent.
Bottom line: These binding rock and 22 Designs makes super reliable gear for any and every adventure.

Light and Fast!!

Backcountry Access Carbon 260 Avalanche Probe

Backcountry Access Carbon 260 Avalanche Probe

Rating for this product: 5 October 12, 2009

The BCA probes are the quickest probe to deploy. Not only do they have the quickie tension hardwire, but the cones in between each link ensures that the sections aren't getting caught on each other or iced up and costing you valuable time fiddling around with you gear. The Carbon brings extra weight reduction and the silk screen markings ensure that you will never loose the depth measurements.

No fog here

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles - Mirror Lens

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles - Mirror Lens

Rating for this product: 5 October 12, 2009

So I just got my I/O Just as the first snows fell in the cottonwoods. I went hiking up at Alta for some early turns and after working hard and sweating quite a bit, I threw on my goggles and charged hard down the hill and didn't get the slightest hint of fog. I repeated a few more times and still nothing. No fog and they fit great! I'm totally sold!!

CW-X Insulator Stabilyx Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 4, 2009

Just got back from a trail run on this cold fall day and I must say that I'm in love with these tights. The combination of warm soft material plus the snug support makes it feel like you are being hugged by a soft cuddly bear while your running. They are wonderful!!!

Low Profile fit

Six Six One Back Guard

Six Six One Back Guard

Rating for this product: 4 September 27, 2009

So, I rock the Back guard when I'm skiing big lines and dropping big cliffs. There are a few features that make this piece of gear pretty good, but then there is a bit that it leaves to be desired.Pros: Light weight, Easy to attach to pack for touring, and quick to put on at the top, saved my back many times, it drops down low enough to protect even my tail bone.Cons: Uncomfortable velcro strap system (especially for girls), rides up a little, and would like a little bit more kidney protection.I own both an impact jacket and this back protector and I find myself using the back protector more because of it's low profile.

These gloves are as big of Rockstars as Seth himself

Hestra Seth Morrison Pro Model Glove

Hestra Seth Morrison Pro Model Glove

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2009

If you're looking for a glove that is durable, gives you great dexterity, and is ultra comfortable, these are it. They may not be the warmest glove in the Hestra line, but hey... they aren't made for the week of mind. These gloves are made for those who ski hard and fast. The rubber finger guards help save your little digits from being crushed when you are blinded by the billowing pow and you accidently hit that aspen tree with your fist. The full leather construction ensures that your not stuck on the top of some remote peak and the nylon on your glove blows out a seam. These gloves are as burly as Seth himself. I you find that your gloves feel a little too snug when you first put them on, give em a chance, they stretch big time, and will fit as snug and comfy as well... a glove.

The only sports bra you will ever need

CW-X XTRA Support Sports Bra - Women's

CW-X XTRA Support Sports Bra - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 19, 2009

I have tried every sports bra out there, even wearing two bras at once and nothing has ever given me the support I was looking for, until now! I am a D and when I'm not skiing down the mountain I am in the gym training. That means I am constantly running, jumping, and lunging and this bra stands up to the task. It may feel tight when you first put it on, but give it a minute and you'll see why its so great!

Rossignol Kali Ski - Women's

August 17, 2009

These skis are probably best for intermediate to expert skiers. Their bigger foot print and stiffer wood core make these skis stable at speed, but a bit tricky for pushing around as a beginner.

Optimum Control

Scarpa T-Race Telemark Ski Boot

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2009

If you are looking for a boot that can handle anything that Mother Nature or the park crew throws your way these are the boots for you. The super stiff design offers all the power you need to take your turns to the next level. The beefier designs also allows you to stay over the fatter, stiffer skis and power them through big turns. For me, the lack of a touring isn't a problem, especially now that I rock a pair of touring bindings (The Axls). But even before I had a touring binding I would just loosen the buckles and have at it. It was always worth the little extra weight and effort for the descent.

The Simplest Beacon to Use

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2009

This is the only beacon I will ever use. It has a great easy on/off dial and a simple search/ transmit button that really limits user error. Also, the simple directional light monitor accompanied by the audio beep and the digital distance reader makes finding your ski buddy quick and simplifies an often daunting experience.
Simply, the Tracker is just a well designed no frills easy to use easy to learn beacon.
