KEEN Sienna Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

July 2, 2009

I'd say these fit just about right personally. Most Keens don't run long, but run wide. These do not in my opinion.

Awesome Mary Janes

KEEN Sienna Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

KEEN Sienna Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 July 2, 2009

The Sienna Mary Jane is amazing.

1.) It has a well built foot bed and lining. Socks or no socks, this shoe rocks.
2.) The cut is made so those with a high instep or arch does not rub against the bones in your foot like some other mary janes or low cut shoes.
3.) The sole is quite cushiony (is that a real word?). Can walk for ever in them.

While I wouldn't recommend them for hiking or real rugged wear, walking around the city or on a nice path, the Sienna MJ can't be beat.

Nice dress, easy to move but...

Oakley Division Dress - Women's

Oakley Division Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 July 2, 2009

The cut of the skirt is easy to move in, not restrictive like some other "outdoors" type dresses. Plenty of pockets for carrying various items. The fabric is kind of a water repellant nylon around the collar, which is a little weird considering the rest of the fabric is a cotton and leather details mix. Be aware that it is very military in terms of it's design and probably not good for formal use at work.

My two biggest gripes are that at 36 inches the dress was a little bit above my knee, I wish that there would be a 40 inch long one like this, but that's just my personal preference. Leggings make it work though if you are modest or conservative.

My other only objective complaint is that the belt pictured with the dress is a flimsy nylon with holes in it and it gets bunched up really easily and the large belt buckle tends to dig into your chest if you are bending.

My solution? Take off the belt.

Also at 88$ it's a little expensive for what you get (even though I got price matched for the 66$ sale Backcountry had recently).

Soft breathable running top

Pearl Izumi Infini T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Pearl Izumi Infini T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 29, 2009

This shirt is made of a sleek fabric that's smooth and feels good on while the back is made of a mesh that vents and keeps you cool. Maybe a little expensive at nearly 40$ however (I paid I think 25$ on sale).

Running Skort - Can it work?

Pearl Izumi Aurora Skort - Women's

Pearl Izumi Aurora Skort - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 29, 2009

Yes it can. The Aurora skort is made with a light weight stretchy fabric that wicks away sweat and stuff quite well. It's flexible enough that the skirt outer layer will not interrupt with the running process, especially if you have long strides. It's also fairly long, sitting right above the kneecap for me, so it's fairly modest for running attire.

KEEN Erin Ballerina Shoe - Women's

June 22, 2009

Keens run slightly wider than marked I believe but generally they run fairly true to size. I have the Seattle, Chelsea, Amsterdam, Sienna Ballerina and Mary Jane and the Erin Mary Jane. All of them but the Amsterdam fit what I would consider true to size.

I would consider the Erin to probably be slightly wider than a regular width shoe, but the length is probably on target.

Roxy Montreal Boot - Women's

June 22, 2009

While I do not own these boots, looking at the picture there seems to be no zipper for one, meaning it should be an entirely sealed boot. Second the outside is said to be rubber as well. My guess is that yes as a rain boot (It is advertised as a cold wet weather boot) these would certainly suffice, providing you aren't wading through a river though.

Oakley Division Dress - Women's

June 14, 2009

How long is this dress (In size 14 if you know)? I know it states "knee" but that can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people depending on their build. I'm looking for a more conservative dress down to the knee at least.

KEEN Calistoga Shoe - Women's

June 14, 2009

I don't have the Calistoga, but it is very reminiscent of the Seattle which is quite water proof up to the point of you getting water in the cut out part of the mary jane. The only thing I cannot comment about is how waterproof the little perforation decorations make the shoe overall. Clearly wearing mary janes one would not step in huge puddles, but I imagine for a moist day or low amounts of snow these would suffice.

Plenty comfortable...

KEEN Erin Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

KEEN Erin Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 June 13, 2009

Well made and comfortable, but like other people have said, the strap just doesn't stay in place. I've had at least 3 other Keen Mary Janes, and never had this problem (particularly the Keen never gave me this problem). My solution is to tuck the tab under the buckle part and that generally works, but it's quite annoying.

Firebrick is a nice festive color, but it's VERY red like a new brick. Not for the conservative like the black or brown offerings.

Great simple winter/rainy weather boot

KEEN Shay Shoe - Women's

KEEN Shay Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 13, 2009

First off the Keen Shay fits just like almost any other keen I've ever owned, and I've had 6 other pairs. Let me put it this way. If you are a size 10 in say the Seattle or Briggs or something, this will fit as a 10 as well should. Being that it does not have a zipper, it does have a little more give and you can stick your foot in with less problems than most regular boots without zippers. There is just enough room for socks or without socks (it's quite smooth and well made with no annoying seams).

It's not outright waterproof but for casual winter wear/rainy weather it will do you just fine, providing you don't stand in a puddle. While Backcountry doesn't carry all colors there are at least 5 I believe.

KEEN Shay Shoe - Women's

June 13, 2009

I personally find that the majority of keens run true to each size. I've own(ed) the Seattle, Chelsea, Amsterdam, Sienna Ballerina, Sienna Mary Jane, and Erin Mary Jane and the Shay boot. With the exception of the Amsterdam (felt too narrow and the heel rubbed, but I digress), every single one fit well and true with the same width and length I'd say. I am a size 11 in keen and I didn't go wrong ordering this in 11. And yea, it's easy to put on unlike some boots which lack zippers due to your arch and instep sometimes.

Dansko Marcelle Cabrio Casual Clog - Women's

June 1, 2009

Size 42 EU will fit approximately 11 to 12 US womens. I wear between 11 and 12, and I have these in size 42 EU and they fit perfectly for me (even with the slide up and down motion everyone mentions in the heel). Take it for what it's worth. They run slightly large.

You would want a 42.0

KEEN Sienna Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

May 27, 2009

The Sienna Mary Janes are actually quite soft and non abrasive without socks. And I find that anything but an ultra thin sock tends to bunch up and look kind of silly.

But no, I did not get blisters anywhere from going sockless in these.

KEEN Erin Mary Jane Shoe - Women's

May 20, 2009

You aren't the only one. I've had the same problem with the Erin MJs. I have the Seattle and it gave me no problems whatsoever.

My solution was to turn the little tab upside down and make it so the strap can't slide back up in.

Lightweight and fun

Columbia Silver Ridge Dress - Women's

Columbia Silver Ridge Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 20, 2009

I'll get right into it.

Pros :
-Really lightweight and breathable
-Side pocket for carrying keys or other small objects is a plus
-Adjustable fit with buttons on the back
-Looks great and doesn't wrinkle very easily

Cons:
-A little scratchy at first wear.
-A bit shorter than a supposed "22 inch skirt equivalent" if you are taller than 6 feet (even with XL).
