Fischer Watea 94 Alpine Ski
May 18, 2010
I too am considering this ski for an AT setup. Posted this question on the other version(2009 vs 2010???) long ago, but no answer yet. So, here it is on this listing. Anyone using it for an AT setup? It would be for more backcountry than sidecountry. I have the Titan boots and am an athletic 6ft 2in, ~180 lbs. Ive tried the 186 cm in an alpine setup and loved it in the deep crud but couldn't get them to hold as well on a pure crust day in alpine boots. The 178 did better but then chattered. I'm thinking the 178 might be too short for the real deep days in AT but it might be tough to drive the 186cm with the Titan Boots. Any experiences? I am particularly interested in the boat-hull version applicability.

Mammut Laser Softshell Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2010
I have two questions. I too am concerned about the arm length question - there seems to be mixed reviews on the actual length of the sleeves. I am 6'2" ~178lbs, 41.5" chest, and usually have a 35" sleeve in dress shirts. I really am not too crazy about upsizing to an XL to get long enough sleeves; but am willing to do it if necessary. Any recent experiences on the current incarnation of this jacket and sleeve length. Second-question - would this jacket truly be too heavy-duty for backcountry skiing? If it is, I might still consider it for lift-served skiing in the PNW.

Outdoor Research Crocodiles Gaiter - Men's
May 24, 2009
I wear a normal street shoe of 14 (some 49 European and even a 15 in Merrells due to the fact that some run short), but I also have skinny calves (6'2", 183 lbs). According to the size chart, I need a XXL in the Crocs, but I read reviews stating that L or XL would be fine. I'm a bit confused. Isn't it really the shoe length that would determine the size in the standard Crocs?
