small, light, too tight

Black Diamond Crampon Bag

Black Diamond Crampon Bag

Rating for this product: 2 May 7, 2009

Lightweight but not as near as good as the BD Toolbox which is a slightly bigger, fully enclosed crampon/ice screw bag. If you're gonna spend money on one of these buy the Toolbox.

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Men's

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 3, 2009

Tried and true Puffy. I have used this jacket for years, and will buy another when it has to be replaced. Has kept me warm from belays in Ouray to long winter walks home from the bar... Good sized pockets, strong and durable. Just wish sometimes that the hood was down-filled...

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

Rating for this product: 4 May 3, 2009

Great back-up stove for those days when you go deep into the wilderness or up high where a stove could make the difference between life or death. Lightweight and compact. Not a simmer kind of stove...this thing cooks! make sure you have a stable platform for fuel canister as there isn't much to keep a pot on board!

Asolo Fugitive GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Asolo Fugitive GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2009

Love this boot. Felt like a pair of tennis shoes first time I put a pair on. Little to none on break-in time, these Fugitives are ready to rock right out of the box. From the previous reviews it appears that you either love em or hate em, all I can say is that after climbing 100,000+ feet on multiple hikes and 14ers that I haven't blistered once and really enjoy hiking/climbing in this boot. Have endured many 15+ mile days with no hot spots. Only thing that I would change is a Vibram sole down under.

"The" screw for you

Black Diamond Express Ice Screws

Black Diamond Express Ice Screws

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2009

The screw for leading ice, all types, from brittle East coast crap to the fat blue ice of Ouray. BD is the standard, all others try but fail to surpass the quality and strength found in an Express screw. Quick bite, fast placement, outstanding quality and super strength! Climb on with the knowledge that you are protected by the best out there.
