Weak Sheath, gets dirty

Mammut Tusk Climbing Rope - 9.8mm

Mammut Tusk Climbing Rope - 9.8mm

Rating for this product: 2 June 19, 2009

After only one day of sport climbing, part of the sheeth tore in two places. I wasn't taking any major falls, or rubbing the rope on rough rock. The "tears" were small, eventually happen to all ropes, and do not weaken the strength of the rope, but my Beal rope lasted about a year before getting the same type of wear. Also, just after one day, the yellow rope started to get dirty. The color is arguably not a big deal, but a yellow rope is going to look horrible quickly.

Great bag

Metolius Ropemaster Bag - 1224cu in

I love this bag. Good price, durable, easily fits my 70m rope. The only downside is the strap is overly comfortable, but I guess that's the nature of the beast.
