Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad

Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2009

So I would like to preface this review with 2 things. The first being that before getting the Big Agnes REM Air Core I was always used old fashioned foam sleeping pads, which though lightweight, would need to be attached to the outside of my pack. Secondly, w e live in Florida and have only tested these in Florida and on summer excursions. I am told they will not suffice for winter but I will see. OK, so these pads are AMAZING. They pack down to the size of a Nalgene bottle (a 1L bottle) and they are more comfortable than anything I have ever slept on. They barely weigh anything and I do not notice it in my pack. It takes about 1-2 minutes to blow it up and it keeps its air all night. I have yet to wake up on the ground. They are a bit slippery and if you are camped on an incline you may find yourself at the foot of the tent in the morning. All in all I am blown away by the quality and convenience of this item. At $50 we bought 2 immediately and we never hit the backcountry without them!

Mountain Hardwear Logo T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Logo T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2009

What is there to ask? It is a Mountain hardwear logo tee. I live in this thing. Sizing was pretty normal. I have the Cocobolo color, it is kind of a purple but I like it a lot. I got this shirt for $10 on a kilelr BC sale, I don't know if I would pay $30. FYI I am 5'9 and 160lbs and the Medium fit perfect.

Backcountry.com SynthTrail Crew Sock - 3-Pack

Backcountry.com SynthTrail Crew Sock - 3-Pack

Rating for this product: 4 September 30, 2009

These socks are cool. For those of us who love backcountry.com what better way to show your support? I wouldn't wear these with hiking boots but for hiking, climbing, really any sue theya re comfy, thin and styling. They do get a bit warm for their thickness but that is the only downside. Also we bought 2 pairs (3 pairs each) for $9.99 on an awesome BC sale. I would not pay $25 for 3, $10 was a good deal.

Excellent for Trekking

The North Face Rock 32 Bx Tent 3-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2009

My girlfriend and I got this tent a few weeks ago. We live in Florida and do a lot of trekking in warmer climates as well as other places in the US. This tent was icnredibly easy to set up. 1 person coudl easily do it, with 2 people it was up in less than 2 minutes. The trail weight and size was very condusive to backpacking. The tent itself is all mesh and we were able to see the stars and feel like we were sleeping outside. The dual door and vestibules are very helpful. One thing is I would suggest this tent for 2 people. We had 2 packs and 2 pads/sleeping bags and it fit but with 3 people it would be a tight squeeze.
Also the price of this tent makes it all the better. We looked at some others including a Marmot that lsited for double the price.
Bottom line...great tent for anyone looking to explore the outdoors.
