Native Eyewear Attack Sunglasses - Polarized

Native Eyewear Attack Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 October 9, 2010

I bought these a few months ago for use during my summer job as a camp counselor. The camp was on the beach and I was frequently driving a rescue boat or paddling a kayak. These glasses are polarized and they are not too heavy. This makes them ideal for all day use in very sunny environments. I was able to make decisions about whether the sailors and kayakers should beach their boats based on how well these glasses let me observe coming storms.

They are also super stylish and I continue to wear them for driving, mowing, playing sports and everything else you can imagine.

2 drawbacks:
- The included instructions for changing lenses do not include the Attack model (or I am blind and can't read).
- The loops for the croakies are fairly large and release from the glasses easily when pulled. They are joint is strong enough to prevent the glasses from falling off your face but still too week to be entirely trusted.

Narrow, but still great.

The North Face Hedgehog Technical Sandal - Men's

The North Face Hedgehog Technical Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2010

When I got these shoes I tried them on and almost immediately sent the back because the size was wrong. However, I decided to keep them just in case. The shoe generally runs a bit narrow and long. I have shorter broader feet and only after a few days of squeezing into them did they stretch out and make a comfortable fit.

The last review mentions the small velcro patches being a problem for longer walks. This is true, however, after a while it becomes more difficult to detach them, especially if get them wet.

The tread on the bottom is great and it is especially helpful on slopes and hills. Overall, I would recommend these shoes to any outdoor lover not wanting to invest in the much more costly Chaco brand.

ok, but not great

Columbia Whidbey Water Shorts - Men's

Columbia Whidbey Water Shorts - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 July 18, 2010

These shorts would be great except for a couple minor things. I bought a medium and tried them on. I found out that the belt is attached to an elastic band that pulls out of the shorts if you try to tighten them. I can't wear the small size but the medium won't tighten enough to make me feel secure that they won't fall off if a strong wave came by or if I try to swim laps at the pool.

Another minor inconvenience is that the shorter length is still too long for me and goes past my knee.

A cool thing about these shorts is that they repel water slightly so if you spill something on them or wade in for a minute and get back out, they will still appear dry.

Class V

The North Face Belted Class V Swim Trunk - Men's

The North Face Belted Class V Swim Trunk - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 12, 2010

I just got these in the mail and put them on as soon as I could. I have never put on a pair of shorts before and felt like I was made to wear them. Construction is solid and tearing and snagging are not likely to happen easily. Other reviews say that there may be some chaffing due to the inner webbing but I haven't noticed the problem as of yet.

The only thing to watch out for, I'm used to a longer short and these tend to ride a little high while sitting. If you like most of your upper thigh to be covered, go with the long version. Also the shorts could use an extra belt loop. There are only 2 and they are spaced way too far apart to be useful.

I give these an A and will definitely buy again.

Update: Ultimately, I have not been able to find a better more secure water short that runs in my size. The belt and the ties keep them from falling off in the roughest of surf and they make great hiking shorts as well. I've still had no issues with chaffing that the other guys have, my only suggestion if that happens is get some powder.

I've worn them almost nonstop this summer in the ocean and have had no problems. I did buy a second pair because I wanted to be a little more sanitary. However, the first pair is working great still and I still plan on buying a 3rd pair!
