Scarpa Mustang GTX Backpacking Boot - Men's

Scarpa Mustang GTX Backpacking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 August 23, 2009

Great boot but with two problems, If you plan on hiking on wet rocks in or around rivers forget it. The soles are completely useless for traction. I also experienced blisters high on the back of my heels. They were probably not quite broken in yet, so i wont blame the boot for that. I would recommend this boot for someone that plans on staying away from rivers and ice.

Scarpa SL M3 Backpacking Boots - Men's

April 1, 2009

I’m stationed in Sicily conveniently located at the bottom of Mt Etna. My question is, dose anyone have experience hiking over sharp lava rock with these boots. I’m afraid the leather will get snagged and torn. Plus what would be the max comfortable temperature could you ware these boots? Thank you in advance.
