Kayland Contact Rev Boot - Men's

November 25, 2010

The Vertigo High is not as stiff and not built for hauling as heavy of loads. For lighter loads it is defiantly the more comfortable boot though.

Marmot 8000M Insulated Suit - Men's

September 12, 2010

Actually Denali is colder on average then mount Everest so I wouldn't say this suit is overkill.

Stick with the superfeet

Sole Ed Viesturs Signature Edition Footbed

Sole Ed Viesturs Signature Edition Footbed

Rating for this product: 2 February 18, 2010

I have tried two pairs of these and they were ok. Not impressed with the heat molding because I have high arches and heating them lost some of the arch support. I moved on to the superfeet and wont look back. Look for the white edition superfeet (box white, insoles black) They are made for people with planter fasciatus but are by far the most comfortable insole ever. Also make sure you get the right fit. I am a size 11 1/2 but bought the 13's because it moves the support forward to fit my foot better and you can trim off the extra at the front.

Big Agnes Hahns Peak SL Sleeping Bag: -20 Degree Down

December 9, 2009

I use a mummy cut Thermarest pad in mine and it has worked great for me. I actually have the lost ranger version which is a 15 degree bag and have been fine down to below 0F when i was doing a winter climb of longs peak. One good thing about the integrated pad is that you dont need to worry about the bottom of your bag getting wet from snow melt or condensation because there is no down to get wet and your pad is waterproof.

A decent Price point Stove

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

Rating for this product: 2 April 1, 2009

I had This stove for just a few months until I broke it on day 2 of a 10 day backpacking trip. If you try to cook anything more then a half gallon of water on this when the supports heat up they will bend easily. Also the "Simmer" function on this is a joke, it really only has 2 levels: off and surface of the sun. It is good for boiling water but try to make a pancake or anything too solid at it will end up burnt. Better choice for the same style are the Primus Micron or the
Snowpeak Giga Power Stove.

Amazing Stove

Primus EtaPower EF Trail Stove

Primus EtaPower EF Trail Stove

Rating for this product: 5 April 1, 2009

My girlfriend got this for me about a year ago and it has been amazing. Used it everywhere from backpacking the Olympic Peninsula to Climbing Mt. Rainer and had no problems whatsoever. Does everything from boiling water faster then anything I have ever used to simmering stew. Definitely prefer this to any of the jetboil systems.
