Sea To Summit Deluxe Pack Cover

Mesh storage bag?

The descriptions says, "Sea To Summit also included a mesh storage bag to help the cover dry once the storm has passed." Just bought one of these pack covers and there's no storage bag included. Is there really supposed to be?

Great boot!

La Sportiva Trango Trek GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

La Sportiva Trango Trek GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 1, 2009

These things are sweet. I'd definitely recommend a good break in period. I broke mine in the fun way....50 miles on the AT with a 45+ pound pack. Got a couple blisters on the back of the heels, but nothing major. Make sure you lace them up tight.

Just got back from a 16 mile overnight trip in Dolly Sods Wilderness Area in WV. The trails were pretty much just mud/water. Heavy rains overnight made for even more fun. My feet never got wet, except for sweating, which is to be expected. At times, I was standing in water past the ankles and nary a drop got into the boots. Traction is good as well. Never slipped except in the worst mud conditions in which any boot would slip. Excellent!

Very pleased with these boots. Buy 'em!

Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter

Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2009

I've used it on a short overnighter and for 5 days on the AT. We filtered water for three people on the AT hike and it didn't take long at all. Probably less than 10 min for around around 6 liters. That includes setup and tear down. Water tastes great. I definitely prefer filters over steri pens and tablets. No more drinking random bits of floating gunk!

Excellent bags

Sea To Summit Seam Sealed Stuff Sack

Sea To Summit Seam Sealed Stuff Sack

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2009

I have a large and it recently spent a night hung in a tree with food through a nasty storm. It probably rained hard for a solid 2 hours or more. It was hanging from the drawstring. Come morning, everything was perfectly dry in the bag. The stream we camped near rose at least two feet that night.

There is a strap attached to the end opposite the drawstring, which may be better for hanging, but it worked just fine hung from the drawstring. It performed better than I expected.

Obviously, it wouldn't be completely waterproof if it were submerged since the end just cinches shut.
