Must be a design flaw

Costa Del Mar Wheelhouse Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Glass Lens

Costa Del Mar Wheelhouse Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Glass Lens

Rating for this product: 1 September 7, 2010

Normally, Im a big fan of Costa Del Mar. However, I purchased the Wheelhouse with 580 lens last year. After a couple months, one of the lenses popped out of the frame. I tried setting the lens back into the frame, but it did not hold. I figured it was just a defective pair. I exchanged it for another Wheelhouse 580. After having the second pair for a couple months, the lens popped out of the frame again. I returned the second pair for good. Probably a flaw in the design of the frame that just does not hold the lens properly.

Not too long, not too short, just the right length

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Short - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Short - Men's

There are many manufacturers that make these type of shorts with lightweight, quick drying material. All are pretty much similar. However, I particularly like these because they fit very nicely. They are not too long and not too short.

Once you go Maui Jim, you'll never go back to Costa del Mar

Maui Jim Kapena Sunglasses - Polarized

Maui Jim Kapena Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 May 3, 2009

I used to be a huge fan of Costa del Mar 580s, until I discovered MJ HCL bronze glass lenses. These things are the bomb! The Kapena is a very stylish wire rim frame and is fully adjustable, therefore, I am able to adjust them to fit my face like a glove.

I have two pair of Costa del Mar, one with the copper 580 and one with the green mirror 580. Nothing wrong with either one. I thought they were awesome till I tried on a pair of MJ. Since then, I picked up three pair of MJs, the Kapena, Akoni, and Volcano, all with the HCL bronze glass lenses and the Costas have been in the closet collecting dust.

Maui Jim Kaimana Sunglasses

April 19, 2009

The HCL bronze lens on any of the full coverage frames is best for offshore. I have multiple pairs of both Maui Jims and Costa del Mar 580s. Yes, the Costa 580 lens is awesome, but so is the MJ HCL bronze lens. Kaenon lenses are polycarbon lenses that give me a headache.
