  • Stomping Grounds:

Mt. Hood, North Dakota, Utah occasionally
  • Bio:

Originally from Bismarck, ND. I just got into skiing in Dec '07. I regularly go to Timberline and Ski Bowl. My favorite past-time is motocross but I've recently crossed over to street bikes and have done a few track days at Portland International Raceway. I'm currently going to Oregon State University for Radiation Health Physics. I love going back home to see family and friends, but the skiing there is dismal at best compared to the rest of the nation.

Bridgedale Control Fit Lightweight Ski Sock - Men's

Bridgedale Control Fit Lightweight Ski Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 21, 2010

These socks are amazing. I didn't think that socks could be this advanced. They kept my toes warm while I was skiing in about 10 degree weather. I bought the size medium and I wear a 9.5 shoe and couldn't be happier with the fit and length. The shin has a lot of extra material on it which was nice for those hard charges down the slope. If I ever need more socks, these will definitely be it.

The North Face Free Thinker Pant - Men's

January 19, 2010

I wear some pretty hefty knee braces (EVS Webs, if you're familiar with them). Will these pants fit comfortably over the knee braces? I have a 31'' waist, usually wear a size medium pants, and am 5'8'' if that helps.

Dude, Sick Helmet!

Giro G10 Helmet

Giro G10 Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 December 14, 2009

This helmet is awesome. I don't know what to say about it except the fit is bomber, the look is rad, the vents keep you cool/warm, I don't get a headache/concussion when I wear it, and I love Giro's In Form fit system. The first couple of times I wore it, my ears did get a little sore by the end of the day, but now its gone. I guess my ears just had to toughen up a little bit.

DAKINE Apollo Glove

DAKINE Apollo Glove

Rating for this product: 5 December 14, 2009

These gloves are crazy warm. I've had them in 10 degrees, no liner, no problem. Anything in the 20 degree range and higher, your hands will sweat. These gloves are more than water resistant. The leather does soak up water, but I skied all day with these is some early Northwest slush and rain and had no water come close to touching my hands (except for the sweat). The fingers are fat and the gloves are big, so don't plan on text messaging with these bad boys on. I bought a size 10, which is the same size I wear for Mechanix gloves. The fit is fine without the liner. I put a liner in just to check it out, and it was still fine. I think a liner is only required in sub-zero temps. The leather is supple, just remember to air dry your gloves if the leather ever looks wet.

DAKINE Apollo Glove

December 14, 2009

Definitely not... This glove is a lot of good things, but dexterity is not a strong point. The fingers are fat and warm.

Did you get those at the boot store?

Dalbello Sports Krypton Rampage Ski Boot - Men's

Dalbello Sports Krypton Rampage Ski Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 26, 2009

These boots rock! I don't think I will ever buy another pair of boots. I can ski all day in these things and not have sore feet at the end of the day. I wear a 9.5 shoe, but I wear the size 9 boot which is a 27. I wear lightweight socks at Mt. Hood and my feet have never gotten cold, but the coldest I have been in with these boots has been about 10 degrees. The thermo-moldable liner is also pretty sweet. Another plus is that the toe buckle has a course and fine adjustment for that perfect fit. Highly recommend to anyone that just likes cruise down the slopes or wants to huck themselves over jumps and cliffs.

Marker Jester 16 Ski Binding

August 26, 2009

I was reading that the 2007 version of the Jester had issues with compatibility with the Dalbello Krypton shell and inadvertant release. Does anyone know if this newer version would be compatible with Dalbello Krypton Rampage boots?
