Bio:
Born in Thousand Oaks, CA. Spent my childhood boogie boarding my heart out at Zuma beach, Hiking the Sierras, camping in the Desert. Didn't see much snow until I moved to Maryland, a stone's throw away from the Nations Capital. Still don't see much snow, but I see enough of it to know that skiing is probably my favorite thing, ever. Spend my winters up and down the EC, skiin' and my summers surfing Cape Hatteras.
It sure ain't the Pacific, or the Sierras, but I manage to have fun.
The only thing that bothers me is that no one knows how to get to chads gap from the bottom of Alta....

K2 Silencer Alpine Ski

Line anthems or invaders.
IMHO anthems are better. a little stiffer than the invaders and the extra width kills it on rails and bigger hits.

Volkl Wall Alpine Ski
May 5, 2009
Take in mind that they are designed as a park and all-mountain ski. They might barely function in powder, but won't be anywhere near as responsive or floaty as a ski designed with powder in mind. Check out the K2 Kung Fuja. They are a softer ski, but designed to be a one ski quiver. They will hold up in all mountain and park, very well, but are also pretty gnar in the soft stuff.

These might good in pow if you are TINY. under 80lbs. They borrow the Rocker shape that are popular with pow skis, but are designed as a PARK ski.

For price point, you can't go wrong with Line Invaders. There isn't really a better park ski. I would stay away from the Silencer and the El Rey, they are both pricepoint, and show it. Also, check out the Dynastar Trouble Makers. In my opinion, they are one of the most versatile twin tips ever made.
You really can't go wrong with Troublemakers.

Dragon Rogue Mike Giant Ionized Goggle

Unless you have a very tiny head, it is mostly personal preference and anatomy. I have a skinny, 7 1/4 head, but I wear "large" goggles. I like the style and real estate.

Oakley Crowbar Goggle - Polarized
March 25, 2009
The Hi Lenses and the Polarized lenses are both treated to cut glare. Obviously, the Polarized will do the job better, but the transmission is higher on the Amber lens.
My preference is the Hi Amber, but if possible, take a trip to your local Oakley "Vault" or distributer and get a hands on feel for both lenses.

hi persimmon o maybe a Pink Iridium would be ideal.
If you are on pricepoint, then persimmon will suit your needs fine. you can always upgrade lenses later, if needed.

Armada AR6 Alpine Ski
March 23, 2009
"dakkaguru" hit it spot on. I would not look to the AR6 for off piste, but anything short of that should KILL IT.
but those anthems are not too long for you. the AR6 are only 5cm(give or take) shorter. That is 2.5 CMs per tip. not very much at all. They are also a pretty soft ski. The flex pattern makes butters a dream and the swing weight is next to nothing.

olssons.
hands down.
just look at who Jon Olsson is and what he does.
plus, salomon has had a few issues with edge construction. and Head is one of, if not the most repected ski companies on the market.

Line Invader Alpine Ski
March 23, 2009
It's opinion. They anthems flex pattern is perfect for park. also the width and the stiffness underfoot helps with bigger hits. The waist in the 90s also kill it on rails.

Line Invader Alpine Ski
March 23, 2009
The invaders handle groomers well, but in my experience, a wider ski is better for powering through ice and granular. the anthem is also more fun (imho) because of the flex pattern, and a wide ski give you that much more stability on rails.
Don't get anything less than a 178, but either the anthem or the invader would suit your needs.
i would go anthems though...

Better. Stay away from Salomon, because they have had some issues with edge damage. Give it a few more years for them to sort it out.
Invaders will be too soft for anything too big.
and between the AR6 and these.
got for the Alphas. They are a much more specialized ski. so much POP.

Line Limited Edition Spirals Anthem Ski
March 23, 2009
They are a park ski that is wide enough to stay up in pow, but they are still a park ski. The won't be anywhere near as good as a set of boards designed with powder in mind. Take a look at the Line Blends, K2 Kung Fujas, and maybe the Line Elizabeths. They will hold up in BC much better than anthems will.

Line Anthem Alpine Ski

Go for the 178. A shorter ski is not better for park. Longer is better in almost every way, with the exception of "snapping out spins," plus it will make you a better skier in the long run.
About the flex pattern. It is similar to the Invader but a little stiffer. You should be able to flex them pretty well, depending on the stiffness of your boot, but the will hold up on bigger kickers. I wouldn't take these off a 25 meter, but you should be fine against anything leading up to that.
