Not waterproof

Sorel Caribou Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 1 September 17, 2009

They are not waterproof. After getting them last fall for ice fishing I started wearing them late into autumn after temperature dropped to 30s F. Right away I noticed that they leak water. So I complained to Sorel. They agreed to accept and inspect them if I shell out for shipping to their warehouse in France. So I did. They inspected the boots and determined that they are faulty and sent me a new replacement pair. Right away I decided to check if they are waterproof so I immersed them in couple inches of water. One of the boots was taking water like a sieve. It was full of water in matter of minute. So it's a shame on Sorel part for peddling such poor quality product. Attached photo of brand new out of the box Sorel Caribou boot after it was immersed in couple of inches of water for couple minutes.

Not a good product

Sorel Caribou Boot - Men's

Sorel Caribou Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 March 23, 2009

I got them for X-mas. I loved the way they look, but I was thoroughly disappointed since they not waterproof and the water somehow gets in. Not sure if it's a poor construction or bad stitching or seam sealing. I did a lot of ice fishing in mildly cold conditions 25-30F, so once dry they keep my feet warm, but once the liners get wet even in 35F weather these boots are useless. I tried waterproofing them with lanolin, but it didn't look like much help.
