I'm 6'2"+ and 195 lbs. w/ 28.5 boots. Mounting Mojo 15s at +5, I don't ride switch very often. Tips are right at the tips of my Mojo 94 187s at this mark.

Marker Has Done It !!!

Marker Jester Schizo 16 Ski Binding

Marker Jester Schizo 16 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 June 5, 2011

The Jester Schizos are the best freeride binding I have had the pleasure of owning, that's one and half seasons on a pair of obSETHeds. The adjustability allows for micro-tuning your position on your boards while having great feel and performance qualities.
I have 5 seasons on a pair of Railflex II bindings that I had plates for on several pairs of skis, not any more.
The RFs are nothing compared to the level of performance the Schizos give me. They are definitely lighter as well.
Buy 'em, you will thank me!

Sick price on SAC.

What I Needed For Deep Winter Warmth

Columbia Cathedral Peak Vest - Men's

Columbia Cathedral Peak Vest - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 19, 2011

I wear shells for skiing, and layer up according to what mutha nature serves up. So the Cathedral runs BIG, I was counting on that for layering over my microfleece.
Does have a thick neck and two nice zip pockets.
Functional, not flashy!
Oh, got the large and it is on my 6'2", 195 lb frame.
Stole it on SAC.

Athletic Cut for a Lean Mean Stud

Royal Robbins Arcada 1/4-Zip Sweater - Men's

Royal Robbins Arcada 1/4-Zip Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 17, 2011

I found the Large to be just what the size chart said it would be. I'm a 43 chest, this is like an athletic cut.
The microfleece is soooo comfortable and warm. This is going to UT, I think I'll leave the Icebreaker home.

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

January 11, 2011

What Jack said. I have both from last season, and they are different skis in all respects, no mistake about it.
Both are 189s for my 6'2", 195 lb. frame. The Heads are 187s that travel with either pair of the K2s, but I never take both K2s.

Great Shell From Columbia

Columbia Deep Ghyll Jacket - Men's

Columbia Deep Ghyll Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 3, 2011

First, the Compass Blue scores big points for steez. Got a Large for my 6'2", 195 lb. frame and the fit allows a MH Windstopper Tech for warmth when I need it, though I got it for spring skiing. The Omin-Tech isn't quite Gore-Tex Pro, but it looks and feels solid. No powder skirt, but for the larcenous price I got it for on SAC, who cares?
Only negative, the hood isn't helmet compatible, so wear a hat!
Nice work Columbia, while the finish detail isn't quite up to my Arc Sidewinder, it doesn't cost nearly as dearly!
I'll post a pic when I get the time.

K2 ObSETHed Alpine Ski

December 5, 2010

Write your answer here...I put a pair of Schizoos on my obSETHed 189s last year and move them around depending on conditions. Usually I ride them at +2.5, but go to +3 for tight chutes and +1-+2 for deep. Me, 6'2' & 200 lbs.

Great Value In a Spring Shell

Sherpa Adventure Gear Lungta Hybrid Jacket - Men's

Sherpa Adventure Gear Lungta Hybrid Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 26, 2010

Glad I got an XL, a large would have been too 'athletic' for skiing. I'm 6'2" and 195 lbs.
Sleeve length is spot-on, the waist is a bit shorter than normal ski jacket/shell designs. i like it for weight and style. The green is sick!!!
Not for deep powder days with short waist and no powder skirt. I have been using hyVent which is very light and thin, I think Sherpa has a winner with this construction. Bring on the trees!!!
Let's see if it holds up...........

Doesn't Get Any Better

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 16, 2010

Just picked up our third, this one is red, nicely trimmed in black.
We have two XLs which even my 5'3" wifey uses, cause it keeps her dry!
The latest one is a L for steez, can still fit a Windstopper underneath if needed, just not as long as an XL. DOLT! Perfect at 6'2" and 195 lbs.
The Venture is an ideal foul-weather raincoat and shell, stows in my small pack for spring events/skiing. Posted a pic here somewhere in this thread.

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2010

I wear an XL helmet and these fit great - no gaps!
Mirror Ignitor lens works well in low light. Scope is more of a medium face fit.
Killer SAC price.

Rating for this product: 5 January 15, 2010

Large is a second skin on my 6'2", 34" waist frame....I'm 192 lbs.
I'll have to do some on snow testing to see how my fleece pants and insulated pants work during mid-winter weather.....oh, that's right I'll be in Vail 1/26. Maybe I should take my shell pants? I think I'm going sheep crazy!

Backcountry.com Merino Wall T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 12, 2010

6'2" and 192 lbs, just got the medium for a sweet base layer, just right like a second skin.
Not scratchy for me, not in the least. This is for under my Icebreaker 320 sweater.
Also, my second Backcountry lightweight merino, both are top quality in feel, fit and stinkless! I think I'm into sheep.

Arc'teryx Silo 18 Backpack - 1098cu in

Arc'teryx Silo 18 Backpack - 1098cu in

Rating for this product: 5 November 9, 2009

Loads of space for day trippin'. Well thought out for high-speed decents after hiking with your boards strapped on.....tried it out and is so easy a caveman.....I don't miss a thing about my old Kelty 1900, especially the useless mess pockets, also my friends can now carry their own stuff, or maybe I'll sell it to them.
Only pack you can wear on the lift, even when stuffed, I like this pack alot.

Rugged, lots of pockets and did I mention rugged? I like the double pockets outside of the knees.....these feel warm and bomb-proof. Wife says my butt looks good in this cut. Winter? What winter, should-be-snug-as-a-bug.

Columbia Rodeo Magic Parka - Men's

June 25, 2009

Never had a Columbia parka, so size is my question. I always take an XL in a Karbon or a Mountain Hardware, the size chart has me in between, I'm 6'2"+ and 200+ lbs out of the shower. XL?
Here in FL I can't even try one on! LOL

Three Years Young....

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2009

and it still looks and feels like new. As my spring ski soft wind shell I've never had anything that came close, even my all-time fav Obermeyer. The ruggedness is top-shelf, and plenty of pockets. I'll wear a membrane shell over it for the wet stuff, but as you can see in the pic, it shreds in red!!!
The cut in XL fits my 6'2", 200 lb. frame well, good length, also serves as an insulator in January zero conditions under my heavy parka. Love the fleece neck when it is zipped up.
I'll prolly let them bury me in it.

I Got Two Last Season

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 9, 2009

After I bought my first one, I did it again. Water-proof and wind-proof, though I wear a soft windstopper underneath for spring skiing at Vail, it is my year-round rain jacket here in SoFLA. Well taped and a great hood, even fits my helmet.
I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs., the XL is a good fit and length, plenty of room for layering.

I received/wore the first one. Water-proof and wind-proof, though I wear a soft, windstopper underneath for skiing in the spring at Vail. I use it as my raincoat here in SoFLA year round, usually with the pit zips open or partially open. Well taped and a great hood. Ultra lightweight!!!

On my second pair, so I guess it's love. Mount these back for powder and packed, forward for park, I use a Railflex II setup that allows for three positions.
