Wore this great jacket through an all-day hike in Mt. Magazine State Park in Arkansas. It poured rain all day and I stayed nearly completely dry. Amazing.

The North Face El Lobo 65 Backpack - 3480cu in
May 10, 2009
Although Osprey makes some great packs, I would go with the North Face pack based on the price difference. Right now, it looks like you could save some serious money by going with NF. The two packs are probably nearly the same in quality and durability and comfort.

The North Face Apex Pneumatic Jacket - Men's

This jacket is meant for cool weather. It only has a slight fleece lining. I would go with the Bionic out of these two if you are into skiing.

These jackets are meant to be close to your body, although you could easily go for a size up if you want to wear some layers beneath it. I decided on a medium basically because the jacket is great to have on my runs because it breathes so well. It just depends on how you want to utilize it.

Columbia Bugaboo Parka - Men's

I looked at mine, but I don't think there is any way technically with the jacket to keep the loops from hanging down. If you could manage to fashion something on the jacket to hold the loops then you might be able to hide them.
