Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's
October 2, 2009
Well that depends on how cold it gets in winter where you are. I have found that if its cold and you are just standing around, this will not be enough to keep you warm, as it isn't really designed to insulate. Where it excels is in high level activities, it will block all the wind and most of the light moisture, and it consequently breathes pretty well. This is my go to piece for runs or cycling, but I usually find myself picking something heavier for casual use. Also, the fit of this jacket is pretty close, and I can only wear a shirt or light base layer under it, so not a lot of layering potential unfortunately.
In summary, it should keep you plenty warm for high level activities (assuming you have the right base layer under it), but I wouldn't count on it for a casual jacket in colder weather.

Primus EtaPower MF Stove
September 14, 2009
How is this different than the Gravity MF? It looks to be about the same, except with an extra windscreen and pot adapter.. if thats the case, could a person just get the extra accessories for this? Because I have the Gravity MF already, and love it, but the 2.1 L pot doesnt sit on it very well (I have to make sure that it gets on there just right, otherwise it wants to fall off).

Primus EtaPower Pot - 1.0L
June 29, 2009
I have a primus gravity MF. Will this fit onto the top of that, or will the heat exchanger on the bottom of the pot make it have too small of a bottom?

Big Agnes Pitchpine SL Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down
June 24, 2009
I actually got the Big Agnes Gilpin 10 deg down bag, but my question has to do with the pad/under insulation on this bag.. from the writeup, it makes it sound like there is no insulation on the bottom of the bag. is that the case, or are they refering to some sort of built in pad that bags sometimes have? I am really wondering if I will have trouble using a typical rectangular mat (with the bag on top, not in the sleeve) with the Gilpin.
Any ideas? Does someone own a bag that has both these features?

Burton Custom Snowboard Binding
June 18, 2009
So I was wondering what kind of board these will fit on... Will they work with a Ride or K2 board? Is there some way to look that up, or is everything just compatable with everything else?
Also, I actually got the Custom YO! Bindings, I assumed that they were the same as these but with different coloring. Was I wrong?
