fickle, but precise.

Patagonia Capilene 2 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Patagonia Capilene 2 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 23, 2009

For the longest time i ran in cotton, then i transitioned into synthetics. For the longest time i've run in synthetics. Much to my dismay, i went through about 12 different types of shirts until i came across this gem. Patagonia's Capiline 2 fits close but not tight. I've never had it play "suction cup" with my skin, and it wicks like nobody's business. The only downside is the potential tearing that can occur when worn with a backpack for very long periods of time.

Regardless, this piece (and it's long sleeved, zip-necked brother) are my go to pieces for distance runs, tele skiing, mountaineering, and fishing.

It is not reccomended that you don this piece while rocking NASCAR shades, a male pony tale, ultra-lightweight cargo shorts, or any combination of the three. Especially if you step out of a Land Cruiser. Don't disrespect the Cap 2 tee, and don't forget to recycle it when it is over and done.

Vasque Velocity VST Trail Running Shoe - Men's

March 7, 2009

I've experienced nothing of the sort with the Velocity VST, however, i still prefer the regular velocity model. The width of the blur is slightly greater than that of the velocity VST. I can't speak from experience on the "wide" width, however, i have heard it accomodates well (sorry i don't have any specifics)

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

March 7, 2009

large should fit you well for the most part. I'm 6'1 170 and everything I own is a large and I'm happy with it.I am 6'1 and 180, and I got the M. Its perfect for a midlayer. If you plan on wearing thicker layers underneath (which besides a baselayer or two, I don't) then get the LargeI would say that you should consider how you want to wear the jacket. I'm 6'4" and wear a medium. I'd prefer to leave only a light layer of air between my body and the jacket as I find that the atmospere protected by the shell of the coat is better sealed this way.And yes, I do have room for a mid layer in there and this way there is room for a hard shell over the top.Go medium, this thing is boxy as hell.
