  • Bio:

Hello from Alaska! I am a commercial fisherman and photographer. Basically I spend time in every part of this amazing state. In addition to those things, Im a certified Helicopter Snowboard Guide, Surfer (cold water and tropical!) free-ride mountain biker, I alpine climb and whatever I happen to feel like doing!
As far as gear, I put things through the wringer pretty good, so I will only review something positively if it holds up to more than ordinary wear. See ya out there!

Berghaus Mount Asgard Smock - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 July 17, 2011

I saw this jacket in the UK earlier this year and jumped on the chance to get it on sale for 280 here. Everything is designed and well thought out like they describe it, except for one thing. In their effort to save weight, they have used once panel of gore tex for the back and the arms. This creates not a "sleek athletic cut" as described, but a fit that creates a very tight and unnatural pull around your armpits and shoulders. If two panels had been used, the jacket would fit superb. It makes for a jacket that you are constantly trying to get comfortable and is very annoying. Definitely try one on if you can before you buy.

Armada Tracer Jacket - Men's

November 26, 2010

Hey,
Just wanting to know who has tried this jacket on in person. All the features are great, atleast on the prototypes we had in Haines last winter. Does the sizing on the production models run huge like some of their other jackets? I am 5'6 145lbs and wear a small Burton Ak jacket. I would switch to this one though if it would fit!?
