comfort and warmth for exertion

the good - warm along the forehead while being cooler at the top of the head.

I bought this hat to go skiing in. My other winter hat is perfect for low impact days (keeps me very warm during the coldest days out on the town), but I will sweat up when I do high impact stuff like skiing and hunting (long hikes with lots of gear). This hat allows me, when I am outside exerting myself, to feel comfortable.

the not quite so good - if you are looking for a hat to keep the chill out, as my other hat does (best winter stocking cap I ever owned, perfect heat balance both inside and outside) then this is not the hat. The bottom gets a little too warm while the top lets the wind and the chill through at will.
