  • Bio:

If I'm not out doing something outdoors I'm usually dreaming about it! I have a 4 year old daughter so I take her on hikes and camping trips close to home. I'm into Alpine/backcountry skiing, fly fishing, duck hunting, backpacking, mountain biking. My wife and I LOVE to SCUBA dive too but we live in Colorado so we don't get to dive as much as we like. Just love the Western US and all the fun you can have in it!

These are tiny and are reusable. I bought a bunch of these and threw them in all my packs...just in case. I have not used them and hope I don't have too:)

Patagonia Rubicon Rider Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 6, 2010

Well built, nice looking jacket...but this coat is WARM! I wear it only a few days a season. Last time it was -8 at the base of Winter Park in Jan, this jacket kept me toasty all day! Awesome cold weather gear!

Patagonia Sidewall Pant - Men's

Patagonia Sidewall Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 6, 2010

I not a weight obsessed skier. Patagonia gear is bomb proof, whats more is these pants are a 2 layer water proof pant with thigh vents for under $200.00 you can't go wrong!! If I designed them I would modify the lower leg to cinch down around the boot, if you're postholing the pant leg comes up. Other than that great ski pants!

Black Diamond Bandit with Avalung Winter Pack - 690cu in

Black Diamond Bandit with Avalung Winter Pack - 690cu in

Rating for this product: 4 January 24, 2010

I like this pack it fits a shovel, probe, water, snack, camera, skins and a small first aid kit just perfect for doing laps at Loveland or Berthoud pass. Has a low profile so getting on a chair lift it doesn't push you too far forward like some ski packs do. Oh yeah and the avalung can save your life! Did ya see that video!

Nice baselayer

Backcountry.com Merino Zip Tee - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Backcountry.com Merino Zip Tee - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 18, 2010

Backcountry's Merino wool zip tee was too good of a deal to pass up. I got mine for $35 bucks! Takes a few washes to soften up the wool. I bought the XL and it is a snug fit but comfortable, sleeves are long and I LOVE the thumb loops. Comparable garments sell for over a $100 bucks so this is a GREAT DEAL. I bought 2! Washing makes it BETTER!

A novice AT'ers POV

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin

Rating for this product: 4 January 6, 2010

This is my first AT skin, I was slightly nervous about having to trim the skins by hand ect... Relax it is a piece of cake! Attaching the skin to the ski is easy as well. Just be sure you're in a clean area when trimming or anytime your skin's glue is exposed (VERY STICKY STUFF). Skinning up a mountain adds a whole new demension to skiing! I will keep you posted on their durability.

Marker Duke 16 Ski Binding

Marker Duke 16 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 October 20, 2009

AWESOME performance! If you're like me and cash is always tight you need your gear to pull double duty. This binding is perfect for those who want to venture off the resort, but need a set up to ski aggressively in bounds as well. These bindings drove my k2 Coomba's very nicely. They have not had a pre-release either. There is NO performance compromise with the Duke's!
