Arc'teryx Miura 50 Backpack - 2746-3356cu in

The rope goes down in the bottom. I stuff in my my 60m 10.2mm rope inside its Metolious rope bag and have had no problems.

I haven't noticed any strain on the zippers or stitching. The zippers are pretty big and tough. Even fully loaded I have never had trouble zipping them up.

Big Biner!

Petzl William Locking Carabiner

Petzl William Locking Carabiner

Rating for this product: 4 June 15, 2010

I have found this to be an excellent rappel biner or to use while building an anchor due to its size.

However, for sport routes where I'm belaying on a grigri I often look down to see that it has flipped horizontally and the load is now longer on the spine (especially when top roping).

The size of the gate opening allows you to quickly pass multiple ropes, slings, etc into this monster quickly.

The action on the screwgate is smooth and the red marking is clear.

Excellent biner.

Arc'teryx S240 Sport Climbing Harness

Arc'teryx S240 Sport Climbing Harness

Rating for this product: 4 June 14, 2010

You will climb harder, look stronger, and be awesome...

As others have said it is super thin yet it remains very comfortable even for all day wear.

I've never noticed the lack of rear gear loops. For sport climbing it offers plenty of room to rack up draws - or you are on your project and you don't need them anyway. If you climb trad and want one harness to rule them all... this ain't it.

I'm a 31 inch waist and the medium fits perfect.

Arc'teryx Miura 50 Backpack - 2746-3356cu in

I got the tall and it works well. The hip belt could definitely fit a MUCH bigger guy but it cinches down on me well enough.

Large Lime of Tartiness

Arc'teryx Miura 50 Backpack - 2746-3356cu in

Arc'teryx Miura 50 Backpack - 2746-3356cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 14, 2010

After several years of carrying my Arc'Teryx RT25 I grew weary of pulling everything out to get to the bottom of my bag, shouldering or strapping the rope to it, and generally just not having much space.

The Miura 50 solved that. My rope fits well in its Metolius rope bag at the bottom of the pack. After that i rack my draws and gear on the internal gear loops. As others have said it would be nice if these ran horizontally instead of vertical... or had both. The pocket on top is great for your keys, wallet, guidebook, and a few power bars. I put my hammock and rain jacket in the front pouch. After all that I can still stick a full gallon jug of water in the top.

I don't really think much about weight - most of my approaches are pretty short at Red River Gorge and even carrying a rope and draws and all the water summer requires doesn't really kill me.

It does work well as an impromptu chair!

It rides very well when loaded up heavy.

Arc'teryx Miura 50 Backpack - 2746-3356cu in

June 2, 2010

I tried a regular sized bag on at the crag and it fit well. I am 6'3" with a 20" hip to 7th vertbrae measure. However i'm only 160 lbs so I'm worried a Tall won't fit (32 inch waist).

Thoughts?
