KEEN Summit County Winter Boot - Men's

January 22, 2011

It would depend on the length of the hike and if you will be in snow. If it's cold out / snow you will be fine. If it's not too bad out and no snow, you have a chance of getting too warm. They are very comfortable though

FLAWLESS

KEEN Summit County Winter Boot - Men's

KEEN Summit County Winter Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 17, 2011

Needed a stout pair of boots that would keep my feet warm in the snow / ice. Read dozens of reviews and finally made up my mind on these. The Summit County boots performed flawlessly. I've had them out in some pretty rough conditions and about 20+ hours in 6-9 inches of snow. Feet never got cold once. One thing: I ordered a 1/2 size up as stated on the web page and had to send them back. Too much room. I re-orded my actual size (10.5) and they are perfect. Just something to think about. I've seen mixed reviews on size. They are also slightly (and I mean slightly) bulky. So these are really meant for trekking in the powder, not really for wearing around town.

GREAT Jacket

The North Face Apex Pneumatic Jacket - Men's

The North Face Apex Pneumatic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2009

Needed a new jacket and after reading some reviews decided on this one. Truly the best jacket I've ever owned - period. The material is amazing, feels great, keeps me warm on those chilly mornings but not hot in the afternoon, and sheds water like nothing.

A side note: I'm a dog owner, and always have problems with dog hair getting all over my clothes. The DWR finish on this jacket doesn't allow hair to become imbedded in the fibers. One brush of my hand and any hair is gone- just convenient.

This one is perfect for Fall / Spring - I'll buy the Apex Bionic when it gets really cold out.
