MontBell Ultralight Down Parka - Men's

MontBell Ultralight Down Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 7, 2008

Taking the advice of other reviewers I bought a large, but was flabbergasted to find that it was too large. The company is now taking American sizes into account. My dag reads "XL" JP and "L" US. Aside from that its daaaaamn light but lacks any form of synch'n mechanism on hood and waist. Extremely striped down. Not as warm as the alpine light, so i suggest this only to gear nuts who often find situations to pack multiple jackets into nalgine bottles or in to a fanny pack. Excellent quality and for the light and fast.

Good jacket for price

GoLite Gamut Jacket - Men's

GoLite Gamut Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 6, 2008

New models have improved zipper. No waist cord, though one could be easily installed. The three layer fabric is relatively waterproof and wind proof, though I think it would wet out after a few minutes of hard rain. Very stretchy. Very compressible. Windproof up to around 40-35 mph winds. Covers most of your ass when cycling. Great for price.

Patagonia Supercell Jacket - Mens

Patagonia Supercell Jacket - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 November 15, 2004

This is me again. Well this product isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was, as I soon found out in a 3 hour rain splurge in John Bryan State Park.
Pros: Waterproofness, Detailing-Amazing, Vents all the way to elbows, Perfecto Fit, Tough as Dirt, This is an alpine oriented shell (ULTRA LIGHT ALPINE SHELL 15OZ), It will do everything! Snow Sports and Backpacking, lots of features.. lots, Plus it's a Patagonia!!!
Cons-
Price- It's not that bad at all for a alpine shell but the only thing standing in its way is two words- Marmot Oracle
Brim- Not that bad, but it seems kind of weak.
No Stretch Panels- well, no stretch panels.
Conclusion- Great shell, but if I could go back I might seriously consider the Marmot Oracle.
I give it a 4 1/2 Stars.

Patagonia Supercell Jacket - Mens

Patagonia Supercell Jacket - Mens

Rating for this product: 3 October 26, 2004

First I would like to say that Patagonia is the best clothing brand on earth. With that said, they missed one on this jacket.
Pros-
Huge vents
good cuffs
Great fit
Breaths good
Amazing Detailing
lots of features
Cons-
Soft Brim
Mesh Pockets
Not 100% water proof (99.99%)
not worth $180
Not ultra light
no strech panels
Hood is not truly stowable
If this jacket was created 3 or even 2 years ago it would hace been a winner,
but with other jackets like The Marmot Oracle and The North Face Prophecy this one can't come close for the price. I love Patagonia.
